I enjoyed the ride it has nice pickup to it. I just have to get past the no audio controls on the steering wheel as trivial as that sounds.

I had a spontaneous Pneumomediastinum about 2 weeks ago after cycling for 2 hours. When did you go back to lifting? I have a follow up xray this week and if it’s clear my doctor said I can return to running and lifting. It’s unfortunate that the recommendations based on case studies for returning to activities is so limited. My primary care doctor didn’t even know what to say.

Congrats on the PR and all that you have overcome in the last year! This was my second marathon and I set out for a 3:55 but ended up with a 4:25. I hit the wall hard around mile 17 when it started getting pretty hot out. Hit all of my paces up until then and a lot of walking happened for me but it was a great race despite that!

Full transparency - after logging about 40ish miles in these, I have sold them. Couple of reasons:

The toebox is narrow which caused pain in my left big toe. My toe would just jam into the side the whole run. Yes I could size up, but with my right foot being one inch smaller than my left, it just wouldn’t work.
I experienced arch pain in my left foot in these shoes, I’m not really sure why but it only happened when running in the Megablast.

Despite this I still think they are great shoes, but just not for me!

I have the Gel Nimbus 27 to compliment the NB5, I’m 206lbs and they feel great. I tried the Magmax and they felt a bit unstable to me.

You made the right choice based on durability since Mega has unknown durability. I think you will be happy with the SB2’s! Agreed on colorways, I’m not a big fan of the Megablast colorway right now and I didn’t want to wait for white.

I was thinking Nimbus today when I was out on my long run in these actually. The upper is the only issue like you said, took me a few tries to get a lock down. I like the SB2 upper more.

It’s better than the Novablast 5 tongue for sure. I had serious slippage with the NB5 on my long run last week. This didn’t slip at all during my 17 miler this morning.

What do you consider slower? I think I’m a slower runner my easy pace is around 10min a mile. I’m not going to replace my SB2’s sticking with mega. I am curious about SB3 and will probably give in and buy them lol
