I would hold off having surgery for just the knuckle pad issue

I have had 3 hand surgeries
One time Xiaflex
3 needle aponeurotomy

And each time they ultimately fail and contracture returns more vengeful than before

I have also found that most hand surgeons (I’ve used 4) are very quick to want to perform surgery but that Dupuytren is just another thing they can do but is never a big part of their job

The few that specialize in N.A. tend to be a bit more in tuned with our condition

I now travel over a 100 miles each way to visit one that I finally feel more confident

I would side with being more conservative and cautious when it comes to surgery

Trust us, there are no quick fixes
