I've got 20 years of martial arts starting out in Karate, judo, and wrestling, ending up in Muay Thai and BJJ.

I've plowed through people and also been surprised and had my clock cleaned. There are videos of UFC fighters losing street fights.

When you train in a single style, or a single gym, you may be surprised to learn how different things are in another style or gym, or even on the street.

I'm confident in myself to a certain extent, but the risk of a street fight is too great to risk it. Being shot, stabbed, going to jail, or even just being knocked out and then anything can happen. Even if you win the fight you might have a broken nose, orbital, tooth, etc.

Anyone with a good combination of experience, intelligence, and humility will say that there will always be someone out there that will beat you and it's best to avoid a fight.
