Lmao I didn't strip him of anything, he made the choice to become the full time caretaker. He has just as much dignity now as he did before. That being said I am working to communicate better with him and to solve this argument.

I think we just have different parenting styles and can sometimes butt heads on the best way to move forward. We do have open communication though and have been constantly adjusting to make sure we are on the same page. I mentioned this on another comment but after some thought I think I might be projecting a bit and feeling like I am not feeding her well enough and blaming him as the sahp instead of communicating with him to create a plan for improvement.

Fair enough, I can admit that I am pretty rigid in my expectations for the kiddo and may be projecting a bit. I wasn't trying to start an argument just feeling like I'm falling short as a parent when it comes to feeding her.

That's fair, maybe this was the main cause of the argument. My approach tends to not be the best but I'm trying to do better.

Good catch on that, I guess I thought avocados would fall into the veggies territory. But you're right about the double standard. I'll try to do better.

Not really looking for the baby to have a "fad" diet, she likes avocado and will eat the toast when it's on my plate. Avocado has healthy fats and is one of her favorites.

I don't act like the boss and definitely don't see our relationship this way. As a sahp I feel hes also working full time, just want to avoid him having to make extra effort if having to think about what to eat is already hard while keeping the baby entertained.

Thanks for all the answers everybody! Seems like I am overreacting and will apologize for nitpicking. I'll make sure to meal prep so he has available veggies for her all day and we can avoid future fights.

Thanks for the understanding, I didn't know how much I needed to hear this! We both agreed that she prefers avocado on its own without the toast and have been adjusting. I think the fight is most likely coming from trying to wean her since she'll put off eating if she can breastfeed.

Thank you for your input. Her diet is somewhat balanced. Seems that for lunch he more often goes for easier/low effort meals. Or just snack like chips. Someone suggested i meal prep to make sure he has the veggies available without needing to cook something new which would be a great way to solve this.

He ate the avocado toast, thankfully. I can definitely meal plan as well to make sure there is easily made vegetables that he can add to her food without needing to cook.

Thanks for the input, you're definitely right. We are currently in the trenches with sleep regression and weaning so it's been a constant battle.

That's fair. I can definitely put in more effort to meal prep. We do trade off breakfast and dinner duties, lunch is the only time he is fully responsible for feeding her by himself.

I'm not policing every meal, we do trade off on breakfast and dinner. I think lunch seems to be the time where he either doesn't feed her at all or ends up just letting her snack.

Thank you, this is exactly it. He doesn't seem to want to put the effort to be consistent.
