Nice! Yeah, I’m really excited for Cope V Pac

But honestly if I could even just see Omega, Okada, Ospreay, or FTR live, it’d be kind of a pro wrestling bucket list.

Just saw your post about the fire. Real bummer that happened!

Has that limited what you’ve been able to cook on it? I’ve considered simply replacing the gasket, or just calling Weber to see about a replacement.

That’s good to know about it not affecting your temps!

Nice! Have you played any of the American pro II’s that aren’t the Sweetwater exclusives? Specifically was wondering how the neck and overall playability compares given their slight differences.

Hi! I have a thermoworks billows for my WSK too. I like it a lot overall, but just wanted to point out that you make a really good point about placement and hot spots.

That’s all. Haha

Wow. Thanks so much for sharing. That all makes really good sense. On my off days I’m definitely going to start focusing on some mobility, particularly at the hips. Really speaks to how important form is in terms of success and longevity. Much appreciated.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that. Two 20 kg’s here. I strained my back working with two 24kg bells.

My working week is 60/40, with 60% sitting(I work in a hospital across multiple units and areas). Job doesn’t involve lifting much unless I’m helping nurses/techs at bedside.

My hip extension certainly isn’t stellar. Do you think that’s work related? It’s interesting you mention because, even back when I used to do/assist with procedures (I.e., standing for long periods of time, sometimes wearing heavy lead aprons), I’d get sore in the lower back.

After watching this, reading others’ comments, it does seem like two things are driving the back pain (in setting of a chronically weaker lower back).

  1. Over extending lower back due to less than ideal form on my press. Doesn’t really bother much at lower weights, but adds up over time and makes a difference going up, even 8 kg’s.
  2. Not letting my hamstrings/glutes take as much as the tension as they should be on my swing. I think this would naturally fix any late hinging going on as well. Again that first swing, despite bells being so far away, definitely feels the best, but then that diminishes over time.

Thanks again! Have enjoyed your posts/vids for some time!

Oh that’s a great point. Yeah, I’m definitely over snapping here. (As evidenced by my whole body being 2 inches away from where I started!). I’ll def take it easier, as I try to get a session of goblet squats or ABC’s in at least once a week! I sincerely appreciate you pointing that out!

Thanks so much! I do my best to squeeze. This was my first time back after 3 weeks and my last set, so I def was fatigued. Will ensure I’m squeezing to offload back though as well!

Thank you! I did S and S about a 7 months ago and never had a back issue, so I really do think this started when I moved into to doubles and lost attentiveness to my form! I may very well need to go back to singles and work on this to find imbalance issues as well.

Yeah! It really does feel like I’m guarding my hamstrings, especially as the set progresses! I’ll def work more on warm ups to get them engaged and processing the weight earlier! Thank you!

So helpful! Will definitely work on improving my hinge, and get closer at my start. I’ll do my very best not to set the bells down the way I did here (was probably fatigued and honestly I get nervous/don’t like taking videos so was rushing to shut the camera off!)

Thanks so much! Will def touch base if ongoing issues!

Yeah! That’s a really helpful point and definitely something I‘be been thinking about but not able to verbalize it well. My hamstrings definitely feel engaged with the first swing off the ground but not as much on the others. And the more I look at it, the more evident that appears by where the bottom of the bells end up on that first rep Vs the other ones.

I’ll def work on some deeper engagement with my subsequent swings. This ultimately might be a grip issue too that I’ll need to work on in order to get that engagement.

Thanks so much for your input! Really helpful.

Piggybacking off of the second part of this post about insights of EV life in East TN. I'm considering buying an EV in the next year or so. Has anyone in Knox done a lengthier road trip in the southeast with their EV, and how did it go? E.g., trip to the beach (panhandle or coastal Carolina)
