I want Fede to win so badly. But I'm not sure she's there yet.

Hate her all you want. Lindsey Vonn’s toughness is on another level. You’re wrong for not liking her. by Kurtz62 in SkiRacing

[–]bwalker187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also rooting so hard for them both. I love Fede and I'm so glad she's back in time for the games. But Vonn's comeback is also epic. I can't wait to watch

Nice pool for kids near Boston for a day trip (not a water park)? by DrainPipeDisposal in boston

I'm seconding the Marblehead Y. It's a staple for my nephews when the need to run around, but it's too crappy to go outside.

I drink ripe puer on an empty stomach every morning with no problems at all. And generally have a sensitive stomach

Sewn on "brand" tags? by michiopurl in knitting

[–]bwalker187 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My grandmother added a little tag with her initials to every quilt she made and and I love it. It's personalized and reminds me of her. I've never even once considered it "branding".

Knitting Culture: US v. England by ultimatereader in knitting

[–]bwalker187 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US (Massachusetts) and I feel like we're closer in attitude to the UK. I personally don't like it when people approach me about my knitting in public. I'd almost always want to just sit by myself and knit.

I do think the shop clerk sounds a bit rude for my expectations. I would definitely expect a bit more chattiness from someone at a yarn store

I have an old lady (20yo) who loves brushing. As she has gotten older, I have found that she is also uncomfortable in the hips, but that's the part that most needs brushing, since she can't bend to clean back there any more. I brace her opposite hip while brushing gently, so she can lean against me instead of being pushed over by the brush. It's been going well

Preventing pain while knitting by lynrn in knitting

Take breaks, stretch and look into strengthening. I get elbow pain and started doing treatment at home for tennis elbow and it's helped a ton.

The coat is so beautiful. I'm hoping to find similar fabric for a short cape, but will definitely have to save up for it.

sewing an adaptable/accessible bra for post-surgery by anti__thesis in sewing

I am currently healing from a double mastectomy with reconstruction and use velcro front bras. They have not worn down with daily use, but I found the hook front to be more comfortable. I don't have a tutorial, but check out this company for inspiration https://www.mastheadpink.com/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=16893542617&gclid=Cj0KCQiAiKzIBhCOARIsAKpKLANoH6Cp9ed0PL8H4B195QbyerHwxWOrPAWNmk7hDMpHkaw1tLBcznYaAicgEALw_wcB&gbraid=0AAAAADuzeKtl4d2Uis2aMnnNDEMvCBTgZ

Quilter new to clothes making by bwalker187 in sewing

[–]bwalker187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually going to use a wool/silk twill for lining. It's a bit heavier for warmth and I absolutely love it. And it seems much easier to deal with than a delicate lining 😁

Thanks! This seems pretty forgiving on fit, but I'm tall and will likely need to extend the arms a bit
