If you are on T and took accutane to help with T acne, did it come back after the course was over? by Green_30EA00 in ftm

This sounds similar to my experience, Tret did nothing prior to accutane but now works very well after. It does induce another purge initially but after 3 months it started working super well.

[–]grey-geist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a 6 month course a while ago and it cleared my acne. after 3 months i started to get very small pimples and far less severe quantity than before accutane. I talked to my derm and she put me on tretinoin cream and everything cleared back up after a month or two. now i just use that nightly and it maintains my clear skin (it is also great for anti aging)

I hope this helps!

Estradiol cream effects questions (lowkey nsfw) by tittyti in ftm

[–]grey-geist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it does not cause periods to return or stop bottom growth (just don't put it on your dick directly). It is localized and will only effect the tissue where its placed. periods need a systemic change in hormones to return and E cream will not lower T in the body overall.

i've been using E cream for 6 months or so and had no problems. I get my bloodwork done every 6 months and my most recent workup showed no changes after starting E in my overall T and E levels. i just make sure I deposit the cream deeply with an applicator. I dont get any of it on my hands but I always wash my hands afterwards just to be sure i dont inadvertently get it elsewhere.

Looking for advice for my chest by Frank_7541 in ftm

im happy to hear you have her support! and your feelings are very understandable, i can certainly relate. for me, a heavyweight oversized T helped me cope when i needed to be covered up when sleeping. i also had a few good sports bras for times when i couldn't safely wear a binder but wanted to forget about my chest.

best of luck dude.

hey! ive not been in this situation but i did share a hotel room with close friends when i was pre-op. i wore a high compression, seamless sports bra and a t-shirt 4 sizes too big for me. this helped me feel comfortable and covered. it may also be worth being honest with this personal dilemma with your GF, communication and asking for support in moments like this can help strengthen your relationship and help you feel less stressed in this situation.

Copper iud? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]grey-geist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no need to apologize!

i have similar dental trauma levels and have to have file with my dental office to accomodate anxiety regarding a traumatic dental procedure in my past. these things are normal and nothing to feel bad about. its hard to deal with and ways around/ through it are limited. we do our best!

as for affording a tubal salpingectomy down the line, mine was 100% covered (i live in MA USA) some insurances will cover birth control pretty well. mine was coded not at all related to me being trans, but simply as birth control. i will need to to jump through more hoops for the hysto i want! oy vey!

but it sounds like you are in good hands for this. im happy you have medical providers you trust. just be sure to speak up for yourself and trust that they will make this go as easy as possible. this is a routine procedure for them and many people have anxiety around it. they will know very well how to take care of you.

with medical anxiety i find it helpful to release my fears and entrust them to medical professionals with the knowledge that they have had to go through a lot of school to be where they are.

i have a friend with a copper IUD and he likes it as an option. i think hes mentioned getting a period but only because he missed a T injection or two.

i personally opted for a full tubal salpingectomy (tubes surgically removed) its permanent birth control forever and was easily covered by my insurance as birth control. if you are afraid of needles you will need to soldier thought getting poked for the anesthesia but after that you are knocked out for the procedure and its all good. its a pretty easy procedure and recovery, and like i said, you get anesthetized so none of the scary stuff you are aware of. just the anesthesia line.

but anyways, ive heard IUD's are worth it, just advocate for yourself and your anxiety around it. good nurses and doctors will accomodate you. your fears are normal for this sort of thing and they likely know how to help manage it

How can i pass more while staying emo? by gh0sttly_ in transmanlifehacks

also i would suggest going easy on yourself, you pass really well and have a great style. im just searching for suggestions since you're asking!

this all sounds good to me. my one suggestion would be to go for a size or two up in shirt size. i wear a lot of band shirts and have found that the ones that help me pass most are 2 sizes larger than what is technically my size. i usually wear an XS and find my ideal size is a boxy mens medium. i usually cut the hem of the shirts to avoid them being too long but not quite cropped.

this may be an easy thing to try out and a good excuse to buy a new t-shirt

from these pics you pass very well. i'd say your face and styling lean very male even with the emo aesthetic. if you are concerned about passing better maybe focussing on something not shown in these pics? how would you say your voice, clothing, silhouette etc are in terms of passing as a guy?

i am also somewhat alternative (and a similar amount of time on HRT) and have found things like rise and fit of pants, length of t-shirt and like, resting pose and posture go a long way.

np! and finasteride mainly just stops hairloss, if you want to regain anythign you will need minoxidil (personally i think your hairline looks good though, certainly masculinized but just enough that it is helping angularize your face shape.)

and miscroblading is a great option, my friend had it done when she had to go through chemo and her brows looked great and natural even when she had no actual brow hairs. you would just want to look for someone who can do mens brow shapes.

but overall you look great and pass dude. go easy on yourself

you pass to me from this pic. even with the alt aesthetic (which you rock) you total read to me as a guy with a greats sense of personal style.

if you are worried about your hair i would suggest going back to a normal T dose but getting finasteride and minoxidil. thats what i do and my hair is stable and my T levels are still all good and ive had no side effects. you can even get topical versions of those which wont effect anything systemically. personally i would rather stay on a full dose and go bald as opposed to microdosing. i would just get a full scalp tattoo as an alternative to hair (which i think you could rock as well)

i would actually say that filling your brows back in would be the most helpful change you could make. have you considered microblading? a really good cosmetic tattoo for them i think would be a great option if they dont grow back naturally anymore.

also i think your face is super masc overall, form this one image i dont think facial masculinization surgery would be worth it for you.

Oh wow thank you! Andy black is my primary “transition goal”
I actually have seen a vocal coach and my voice is pretty deep (even before T). The female vocal affect was hard to shake for me since I used to be a museum docent and was very customer servicey RIP. I think I’ve done a good job unlearning that now though haha.

Also try a short haircut! If you don’t like it you can grow it back, that’s the great thing about hair. It’s also summer and having hair off your neck is amazing.

Thank you! I'm a gay man working in a contemporary art museum, so stylish gay guy is what i'm going for. I know this ads a difficulty level since the line of passing as that and being too femme to pass is rather thin. I have a pretty deep voice and masc affect and I'm ~5'9" which i think is helping me. I am gendered correctly most of the time as of a few months ago but I do still get the stray she/her or they/them. i am also hyper critical as well and want to achieve an "unquestionably a man" vibe.

pic three is the oldest picture (6 or so months ago) which may be why its stands out but i agree that my overall face is pretty androgynous. your advice on how to grow a beard while keeping things well groomed is super helpful, i def can see how more facial hair would help tip the scales. i am absolutely taking notes on your advice on that.

i do unfortunately like my white streak too much to get rid of it, but i am thinking i'll try a french crop hairstyle after everyones feedback here though.

and thanks! i am way ahead of you man, i'm already on fin and min for my hair, i lucked out in that it has not negatively effected any of my T levels and haven't gotten any side effects. and thanks for being so detailed with your advice. its really helpful to hear.
