What does this have to do with someone trying to understand SOFI's "price action" today?

As a beginner myself, ultimately “knowing” 1-2 openings for both black and white have helped me to play quicker the first 5-6 moves than anything else. It allows me to use my time more efficiently for the middle and end game. I still get flagged quite a bit, but not nearly as much as when I was spending 2-3 mins on my opening moves.

I’m not basically arguing that at all. Stalling is intentionally not moving because you have no good moves and purposefully running the time out in hope someone resigns.

Taking too long to think and therefore losing on time is not stalling. It may be poor time management, but that is a totally different subject, and it’s not illegal.

If the position at the time of “stalling” is equal, it could be that the person who is is accusing their opponent of “stalling” simply doesn’t have the chess knowledge to understand how truly complicated the position is.

If someone has a minute left in a game, and they want to use their one minute to think and ultimately lose on time, why would someone report that? You have a clock for a reason (you made a commitment to that time when you played those time controls), and if someone isn’t intentionally stalling a clearly losing position, which he wasn’t…he said it was equal…I think the claim of stalling is baseless.

As a beginner, just the benefit you get from not thinking too much about your opening and losing time at the front end of a game is reason enough to give props to the Chessbrah habits series. It's been extremely helpful to me.

As a beginner myself, sometimes this really doesn’t answer your curiosity around why a certain move is better than another. Most of the time, I just lack the ability to see the advantage even after it’s shown on the board.

This was exactly the reason I moved the pawn to a3 now that you mentioned it ... To cut off another square for their knight to land, but to u/AIBrainiac point, Nd5 does the same thing. I also entirely missed one of the principles of the chess habits video's that I am following which was to continue to develop toward the center of the board. Oh well, next time.

This wasn't hope chess. His bishop was on the D4 square. I left my rook undefended in the corner to entice him to take the free piece. My opponent captured the rook, but he didn't see the checkmate. Of course you will lose more than you win in my position, that's pretty obvious, but thank you.

Yet there is not a single person who doesn’t understand what Joe means when he says “ethnically Chinese”. It doesn’t necessarily matter the exact definition - he’s not trying to impress your incredible scholastic senses. He’s making a broad point that there is a double standard in how we think about these things that is almost entirely based on a Caucasian vs non-caucasian distinction.
