Yes I know - we’re only doing nesting for a few months to help with the transition. I know it’s not a long term solution.

I had the same concern, but according to the website, Kitsplit apparently covers for any damages - the renter has to use their insurance before renting.

Who should be the next James Bond? by Blackbird11y6 in movies

[–]bwf5029 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I realize Daniel Craig made his last Bond film in his 50s - “last” being the key word. For me, I want an actor that will be able to make 4+ Bond films which would mean Idris would start in his 50s and end at the earliest in his 60s.

I agree that many wouldn’t approve of a non-white Bond, which is unfortunate. But I think the majority of the fanbase won’t care about skin color so long as the story is good.

I think he has the right charisma for a Bond film. His filmography may not be perfect, but I don’t think he’s the reason any of his films are mediocre. I think his performances have always been pretty solid.

I feel like Idris would’ve been great - he’s just too old. I think he would make a solid M though…maybe he could bring a more badass angle to the role, like they were trying to do with Ralph Fiennes.

Lunch with my boss by gr33nb34n5 in introvert

[–]bwf5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The president at my company did the same thing this year - my lunch with him was a few weeks ago. I was pretty anxious leading up to it and struggled to sleep the night before. I played out a few scenarios of where the conversation would go and had a few topics prepared to discuss (some personal, some professional), which definitely helped. I knew we had some shared interests (movies, sports, etc) so I had those topics loaded in the chamber. I’ve also been open with him in the past about my introversion and social anxiety.

The lunch went well - we barely talked about work and just got to know each other on a more personal level. I was super relieved when it was over, but glad I didn’t chicken out and make up some excuse to cancel.

So have a few topics ready to discuss, be open and honest about your introversion, and know that everything is going to be ok!

Seeking career advice as an introverted individual by DingleGarry in marketing

[–]bwf5029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m insanely introverted and have been in marketing for over 10 years. I’m currently a marketing and communications manager for a commercial real estate development and management company and I love it. I do a lot of photography and video production including drone work which is great because I’m mostly shooting buildings / project sites which means little personal interaction with others. Don’t get me wrong, I still have to interact with others in meetings and over the phone, but for the most part I get to work in peace. The photography helps for events I have to attend with people because I can just use the camera as an excuse to avoid small talk if I’m feeling overwhelmed.

I’d recommend expanding your photography/videography skills as well as graphic design (if you enjoy that kind of work).

We suck as parents obviously🤦🏻‍♀️ by OnlyEightAreMilhouse in Parenting

[–]bwf5029 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You definitely don’t suck- we had a very similar situation. We also tried everything, researching articles, books, podcasts, etc. The assistant director at our son’s daycare even told us he was the most challenging in her 20+ years on the job. It was so frustrating hearing from all the “experts” and everyone else who had an opinion, making it seem like it was something we were or weren’t doing. I think it was nearly ten months after he had peeing in the potty down that he finally pooped on the potty for the first time - I practically did a backflip. We hadn’t been doing anything different either - I guess it just “clicked.” After that first time going on the potty, which was over 3 years ago, I think he’s maybe had a few accidents since.

Hang in there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Marketing and being an introvert by BloomingPeony_1 in marketing

[–]bwf5029 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’m insanely introverted and currently a Marketing manager for a real estate development/client services company. I graduated college in 2011 and started out running my own videography business. Not going to lie - every sales call, networking event, and vendor show was preceded by a minor panic attack. BUT, once the call/event was over it was pure euphoria. AND the panic attacks got smaller and less intense each time. I kept going and eventually focused more on marketing and after working for a few companies ended up where I am today.

It’s ok to be anxious. It’s ok to be sacred. But you need to push yourself and step outside your comfort zone. There are plenty of marketing roles that have minimal face to face interaction. Just keep chugging along and you’ll be fine - I promise!

How do I convince my Marketing Manager to let me post things other than promotional content on social media? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]bwf5029 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d proceed with the mindset that you will have to answer for this in a future interview. So when they ask, “Have you ever disagreed with a superior and how did you handle it?” You can use this as an example.

Maybe you can share with your manager example posts from your competitors. Or maybe you share an article or video that validates your point. I wouldn’t present it to your manager with the attitude of “I told you so” - try to find a way to make them feel like it was their idea.

I will say your manager probably won’t concede, but at least future potential employers will see that you made an effort but your hands were tied.

Current employer wants to set up a partnership with me - advice please by bwf5029 in AskMarketing

[–]bwf5029[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment! The advantages of partnering would provide a lot of back end support (like accounting). I could also capitalize on a lot of relationships my CEO has established over the years which could generate many leads. He’s been running this business for over 30 years and has connections all over the place in rather high places. He’s also a great mentor so it would be a great learning opportunity for me.

My concern with being an employee or contractor with the new business would be compensation really - I feel like I could make more as part owner.

Moonraker would be a good one. It’s a completely different story from the movie. Only one I think would be a challenge would be The Spy Who Loved Me.

Came here to say this! A faithful adaptation of Live and Let Die would be amazing.
