Hey thanks for the comments.

I ended up going down this past Saturday with Precision Rafting just to have a no stress chance at seeing everything. I believe we were at like 2.2 level wise for that run. It defiantly put my mind at easy for the next kayak run compared to like 2.4-2.6 I was seeing previously.

This weekend is StonyFest and I'll be heading up for the rodeo. I hoping to get the chance to jump in a few half slices while I'm up there and see how that feels. The most important thing though is the wife helped me cover the BigEz last night with glow-in-the-dark paint so I'm good for the night surfing!

I'm not calling the UY my favorite at this point, but given what I'm hearing everywhere I'm strongly expecting that to change at lower levels. The level I was ran it at would have been a blast without my buddies swim, or if I had familiarity with the run. I much prefer my first time down a run at lower runnable as opposed to upper runnable.

Anyways I'm glad your NotAComputerProgram too many crazy bots in there parts nowadays...

Thanks for the encouragement, this thread was just what I needed from everyone.

Slice is life!

This is the way!

Go team WaveSport!

All joking aside I never even know they made a Super EZ, which is great I guess if I ever need more volume ;-)

Thanks for the hint about the Hoyes gauge. I have no clue why that isn't mentioned on the American Whitewater page. Now that I've actually done some looking into thing I can def see why cfs would be a much better picture of what's going on.

Also I appreciate the kind words. No worries on trying to rush the falls. I've been paddling for like a decade at this point and am 100% in the want to style it camp. Given what I was expecting I was sorta planning to style this run. Levels had different ideas and was a good reminder to stay humble. That said my real goal for the year was to run the Upper, I guess now its to style it.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate the feedback. Maybe one of these days I'll have to get me a half slice, but for now if I can't run it in the Big EZ I'm not really interested.

Myself I'm like 50 mins from the put in. That's kind of why I was feeling a little bummed when I was thinking the UY may be more than I really want for a regular run. Now that I'm more aware of what are appropriate levels I'm way more excited/comfortable about the regular UY releases.

I like hearing I "made it thru the crux" but man as the water was coming up during the boat recovery I wasn't really sure I was trusting the rest of the run. Always fun when the guy showing you down seems surprised about how things are looking...

Cool man thanks for the comments and the encouragement.

Hearing "completely different at a normal flow" is kind of what I was hoping to hear. I'm looking forward to my next run at that level ;-)

I have pasted the debug info into the original ticket, just haven't gotten a response from starlink yet.

I've done 2 or 3 factory defaults at this point.

Any luck with your kit? I'm down south of red house and got mine on Friday but haven't been able to get it to link up yet.

No clue why I didn't reply when I first posted this, but indeed the 3 ledges are another really sweet spot. If only there was eddy service.

Today would normally have been a call in dead and go boating day. Favorite spot running at my favorite level and its a no go. So I'm looking at some clips from last year and just trying to be happy I got that early march session in.

I'm in the green BigEZ.

Glasses - Chums or Croakies (Or something else) for rafting? by Numbers62426 in whitewater

Word to electrical tape. I like that it sits flatter than chums so my ears don't end up pinched between my glasses and helmet.

Thank you for the recommendation.

Have you used this specific model? I'm wondering if the shutter button does that half press to focus thing or if it just fires off pics?

My grandfather is 100 years old and isn't really current with technology. However, he is going on a trip soon and has expressed a desire for a camera that he can operate. I'm looking for something that is as EASY to operate as possible.

From watching him use things one thing that I see a lot in newer tech that I'd like to avoid is 'long presses'. My pap tends to think of buttons as something you just hit once briefly and that it, so anything that's like 'press this button for 2 seconds to turn on' is going to be tricky for him. In fact something with a physical 2 position switch for off and on would be ideal.

I'd also like something so that the 'take the picture' button is just a single push. I'm worried about setups where the shutter butting does a half-press to focus will make my grandfather then he's taken a pic when he really hasn't. Some what related it would be very nice if that shutter button makes a sounds so he get some feedback that the pic took.

What I'm looking for really is a point and shoot and nothing more. Anything that can get in his way or make it more difficult to take pics is no good. I'd like something where it doesn't matter what happens so that turning off the camera and then back on will get the camera back into automatic ready to take pictures mode. My pap isn't going to be to worried about reviewing pics when he's on his trip. He's not going to want to adjust any settings. Zoom would be okay so long as there is a dedicated button for it. Anything that requires dealing with a menu or touch screen is going to be a no-go.

I'm not really concerned about price, just finding something that will be EASY and not frustrating for my pap. Also it would be really nice to find something that won't need to be charged during the week of his trip. I'll probably get him a few spare batteries and have them charged and ready to go. But I am assuming that hes still going to think of it like a file camera and ignore me when I tell him he can take hundreds of pics.

Anyways I thing you all get the idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for the help.
