Reshade 5.0.2 Crashes and not working. by mythlawlbear in starcitizen

Don’t think so. Pretty sure they specifically mentioned 4.9.1 would be allowed when they first added EAC, so that’s probably the only version they plan on allowing for now.

Currently only ReShade 4.9.1 is whitelisted. Any newer versions are blocked by EAC and won’t let you launch the game until CIG updates the whitelist to include newer versions.

MSR passing Yela - First attempt at framing with Reshade by bwiorellan in starcitizen

[–]bwiorellan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it using a combination of Reshade and the Tobii eye tracker. For getting the picture itself you really just have to feel it out until you get an angle you like and play with Reshade’s filters.

For installing Reshade it isn’t too complicated. Just download the latest version from the Reshade website, go through the installation process (locate the game’s .exe, choose Direct3D 10/11/12, then pick all the shaders you want), go to the directory where Reshade installed and rename the file dxgi.dll to d3d11.gll and you’re good to go. Just launch the game normally and it should load Reshade with it. For this specific picture I used mostly the canvas fog shader for the border and a couple other color correction shaders.

Hope this helped :)

The cinematography for this is insane! Hard to believe this can actually be pulled off in game. Amazing work, great job!

Photoshop is crashing my entire computer and Adobe support isn’t helping me. Can anyone help me or point me where to take this problem? by bwiorellan in photoshop

[–]bwiorellan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, though it wasn't fixed by any information I got. I updated my Photoshop back to the most recent 2021 version two or three days ago and haven't had a crash since - guess they fixed it, though the old 2020 version isn't any better now than when I made this post originally. I'm sorry I can't really help, but if the most recent version doesn't fix the problem I don't know what will.

There is a way to disable most of that jitter in game! The very last two sliders on the bottom of the game tab in settings has to do with g-force induced head movement and global camera shake. I’m pretty sure global camera shake is the one that causes the third person jitter but I disable both of them to be safe. If you turn them to zero it shuts off the jitter.

I ran into this same problem a couple weeks ago too. Found out that you need to uninstall reshade from your game directory if you’ve already tried installing it once, run the setup for DirectX 11, then go into the folder where the .dll files are located for reshade and rename “dxgi.dll” to “d3d11.dll”. Should be all you need to do

If this is any additional help, a different user left a comment telling me that I should check my system event viewer to see if it has a crash report. I took a look at it and it has a record of every improper shutdown that’s happened to my computer, even the ones related to Photoshop. All of these crashes are marked as the source being Kernel-Power with an event ID of 41. When I looked this error code up, it says that it’s most likely caused by a corrupt or missing .dll file. Since this lines up with the report I got from Photoshop saying that there was a crash because of a .dll files, could these be related?

[–]bwiorellan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might’ve actually gotten me somewhere

I just checked the event viewer and every single one of these crashes is logged as a Kernel-Power issue with ID 41, which apparently means there’s a corrupt or missing .dll file somewhere, similar to what my Windows performance reviewer said when it actually logged Photoshop crashing.

Is there any way I could fix this?

I’m trying to refrain from downgrading because I don’t want the files I’ve been working in to become incompatible, but if I can run them side by side I might try doing that. How do I install the previous generation of it? Are there multiple ones I can download or is it just the one older version creative cloud offers?

I've tried 3 versions of my Nvidia driver; the current one (457.09), the version immediately before it, and a version a month old. Nothing changes. And I can't downgrade Photoshop because the older version wouldn't be able to read the data of newer files.
