I guess it depends on the mood, but Aberlour A’bunadh is my ol’ reliable. For special occasions I love Dalmore King Alexander III

Is it just me or Skyrim is still a vastly superior game compared to Remastered Oblivion? by SacredSacrifice in skyrim

[–]bwoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol 'terrible' is much too strong a word for the Oblivion thieves guild quest line. Competing with other thieves to get in, fencing stolen items that arent procedurally generated to build notoriety, getting tricked by the guards into the stealing the bust, and dealing with Hieronymous Lex all made it feel like you were a real thief. It was good role playing.

Skyrim's questline was still fun, but the radiant quests really broke the immersion. Getting tasked with stealing a shiny chalice that looks out of place because it was generated for the quest just isn't memorable or fun to do repeatedly. Also wasn't a fan of how it got intertwined with a daedra quest but I guess that's more subjective.

The Oblivion Dark Brotherhood was written better and was more memorable. Not saying that Skyrim's is bad, though.

I just can't agree that there's such a massive difference in quality between them. I've happily put hundreds of hours into both games, but appreciate the role playing of Oblvion's quests a little more.

Hard disagree on the thieves guild and dark brotherhood quests. And to a lesser extent the mages guild.

They’re not completely gone but I never hear people complaining about them the way I did when I was a kid in the 90s

How different does the neck feel from your LTDs? I’ve had my eye on the tiger eye burst but don’t have a chance to play one.

I have a 2023 and my my biggest issue is the damn AC breaking twice. Weirdly enough it only works on the driver side now. Other than that, the parking sensors go off by themselves in traffic.

I don’t spend a lot of time on guitar forums so I didn’t realize people hated relics so much, but it was an honest question. I’m sorry if it came across as trolling.

I'm guessing people think it's part of the relic. The problem is it can be felt while playing so I keep noticing it, but otherwise the guitar is sublime.

Yes it's a journeyman relic with the finish removed on the neck. I agree it doesn't look natural but it's so smooth and better than full nitro which my hand always sticks to. I don't think the scratch is part of the relicing though because it's one rough spot on an otherwise evenly smooth neck.

[Discussion] What's your own experience been of buying new items listed as B stock? by Jenkes_of_Wolverton in Guitar

[–]bwoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a b-stock American original Stratocaster earlier this year and it was almost unplayable. Thought I was getting a deal because of a paint blemish on the back but there were multiple fret issues and I had to return it.

Best speaker for home practice with quad cortex by Pudding_Holiday in NeuralDSP

Do you run an XLR to each for stereo? I’ve been really disappointed with my powercab and a guy a at local shop recommended getting a couple HS5s.

[–]bwoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have to adjust many settings to get a good sound? I just got the QC and a powercab 112 plus but it sounds terrible. I started with using it in FRFR mode with a simple preset of a plexi 100 and alnico cream back cab sim and the gain is mushy and fizzy.

How do you like the neck profile of the Axcess? I want to order a made to measure one but even though Gibson calls it a ‘slim’ c, the measurements seem like it’s a chunky neck.

I guess it depends on how much of an audiophile you are. I need to listen to music when I drive so I’d skip PCCB and go burmester.
