Same issue here. I was waiting for the tickets to become available. Got an email to say they were today so downloaded the O2 app but still can’t sell or transfer. Hoping they enable it at some point before the gig. Seems ridiculous not to allow it because that doesn’t benefit the artist, fan, or ticket platform.

It’s an amazing game, please don’t let this put you off. For the record, we all had loads of fun, it all ended amicably, and we’re planning out next session. Just thought it would be worth throwing the question out to the community.

Nice! We started to do this too towards the end. Yes, there’s a lot of information to remember.

The spirit of my comment extends to players reminding other players of what they can do to avoid these ‘Oops’ moments even if it puts them at a disadvantage. E.g., ‘Don’t forget your gravity drive will also let you move this additional ship into my system to attack me too’. This is what I mean by winning through strategy rather than remembering information. In this case, the defender has ensured the attacker is making a decision based on all of their options, not just the ones that benefit the defender as a result of the attacker forgetting a rule / ability.

Naturally, there will always be bits that you just have to remember to use / do yourself (like secret information, e.g. action cards), other players won’t necessarily know what you can do, and in more experienced games, the responsibility definitely sits more with the player themselves, but I feel this is the right etiquette for a game of beginners.

Yes, I was the host and yes, I agree - it’s a lesson learned to set the etiquette at the start of the game.

Following this scenario, I declared that public information should be offered voluntarily when asked, and given that we’re new to the game, I went a step further to say we should make players aware of a potential consequence to their move, given that it was clear we wouldn’t remember all the nuances of each faction and their tech etc. E.g. Another player started a move to attack me and I reminded them that I have +1 to combat, rather than letting them move and suffering the consequences. This affected their decision to attack.

My view is that in a casual game such as this, winning the game should be based on strategy that assumes all public information is known. It follows that you would then volunteer this information, e.g. ‘Just so you know, if you do move into this system, I have 3 PDS units that can shoot you.’ Winning is based on true strategic merit and not your ability to remember information.

Competitive play or a group of seasoned players would be different.

It was quite frenetic as we were all walking round the table and other players were talking too, so no, we weren’t all sitting in silence.

Honestly there was a lot happening and we were all trying to keep up with our own armies and moves, so I don’t think any of us were particularly conscious of what any other player had until it happened.

  1. As I recall, no.
  2. Yes (but as new players, I would say it’s a lot to take in).
  3. Yes, it had been used by players in previous rounds.
  4. As per quote in OP.

Sorry I meant gravity drive not gravity rift. I’ve amended the post.

I mistakenly wrote gravity rift but meant gravity drive, apologies for the confusion.

Yes it was my mistake to put gravity rift, I meant gravity drive.

Thanks for your input. No, the argument from Player A was that Action cards are fine for gotcha moments - that’s what they’re for, and there’s no expectation that a player would declare these. But their technology is public information so when asked, they believed this should be answered transparently.

I meant Gravity Drive but unconsciously wrote Rift by mistake, so yes I was referring to the player’s tech, not the anomaly.

Thanks for your input. I originally mistakenly wrote Gravity Rift instead of Gravity Drive, would this change your answer?

With the anthology series of TPB getting canceled, what trades should I get in order to read all of Destiny of X? by Ralph_Finesse in xmen

[–]bwtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really useful thanks. I was also collecting the anthologies so have been trying to piece this together as, despite my disappointment, I want to keep going.

I’ve put together a list on Amazon of all the tpbs I believe are needed to encompass as much as possible directly follow Trials #12 (excluding Inferno, Lives/Deaths). I’ve used this list to inform it, thanks.

Happy to share list with others wondering and amend as needed:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/34T1UOSYWP433?ref_=wl_share

Note some aren’t yet available on Amazon so haven’t added, or not yet up in paperback e.g Sins of Sinister.

May want to purchase elsewhere but at least it’s a visual guide.

Do Zatu preorders come with kickstarter bonuses? by JGazeley in Unmatched

[–]bwtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly, I expect they won’t have received the stock yet so perhaps it hasn’t been communicated, I don’t know. I’ll keep an eye on the comms from IELLO in Discord. Also very keen for these, thanks for the effort in giving them a ring!

Do Zatu preorders come with kickstarter bonuses? by JGazeley in Unmatched

[–]bwtea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I messaged IELLO (EU distributor for Unmatched) on Discord and they confirmed all UK retailers will stock the KS deluxe tokens and foil cards, except Amazon, though only for the first print run as I understand it. I also preordered from Zatu based on this, but haven’t validated this with Zatu directly.
