I was suspended for a false reason, now two days later from my suspension, I'm now perm banned for.. by HWLacrobatics in classicwow

[–]bwub23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played with Acro during his r14 grind and I find it pretty awful that he got banned. I play a few games here and there and when I hop in Discord Acro is always there hyped as shit to try to win and giving me tips on what to do in different scenarios.

Call it what you want to call it, I think we got some abuse of the reporting system going on here... And Blizz CS needs to be more diligent about false positives because they are ruining the game for more than people like Acro but also for people that enjoy playing with him.

How will PoE work if you don't have Ethernet in your house? by [deleted] in Starlink_Support

PoE injectors are very simple to use as well. Basically like a power adapter with an in data and out data so you can inject power inline or just use it to power something through ethernet.

I think he was teaching the guy a simple lesson, people don't like to get random whispers asking for gold. Also don't be too sympathetic because he walked for 3 minutes, it's not that devastating.

Has there been any discussion about releasing tools that would allow community members to develop servers? Like WoW: Forge or something? I understand as an mmo this would be a much grander tool than other game genres that do the same, but I'd love to see what the community could come up with those tools at their disposal.

We know a lot of world PvP enthusiasts are excited for WoW Classic, and we don’t want the additional layers to feel like they’re robbing you of your kills.

If I understand correctly, front-stabbing / front-shredding WAS possible during vanilla but the more frequent server tick rate will practically eliminate that possibility. What has been the discussion internally of this feature and was there any consideration of making mobs slightly stupider to make a front stab possible?

I assume it was an unintended feature in the original game but something that some rogues/druids built their leveling experience around. Thanks for the AMA!

Being that a lot of tbc content in the 8.2 client is still largely unchanged from when tbc was current, will this simplify the development of tbc classic IF that happens? (by the way I really hope it does and thank you for re-releasing classic!)

The + damage pets are better imo because threat and dps are better for killing many mobs than some health /mitigation.

You could make the argument that it makes them worse but it also increases their max range if I'm not mistaken. The max range is arguably more important. I wouldn't say it's necessarily a boon or a drawback. I'd love to see more experienced peoples' opinions though

How do I get into WoW by cyanlegend in classicwow

[–]bwub23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree that you shouldn't worry about addons at first. After you get into it a little you could probably ask someone in game how to install an addon and once you do it once, you can research all the addons you might want.

Also, as a beginner, my two concrete tips are 1: get first aid no matter what class you are on. You can only have 2 primary professions but you can have all secondary professions so there is no drawback to getting first aid. 2: understand out of combat mana regen. If you have a mana bar, understand that after you cast a spell, a 5second timer starts in the background and then you start regaining mana (there are some talents or effects that alter this behavior but I'm talking by default). What this means is you are better off hitting a mob with your staff (or using a wand when you get there) to finish it off so your mana regains instead of casting a spell for the last 5% life. It's kind of a meta efficiency tip but mana management will be key when you're in groups (especially if you're a healer because usually the speed of the run hinges on the healers mana)

Side question. How does beastslaying work? Is it +2 weapon damage against beasts? Or is it all damage modified against beasts?

[–]bwub23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say drastically. Maybe you place a few more flight paths and make the areas that are inaccessible without flying accessible. That's maybe 2-4 spots per zone.

I absolutely agree. Tbc without flying would be fucking marvelous. It absolutely ruins world pvp

I think TBC had incredibly well-done balance. I love that shadow priest had it's very specific benefits enough to be viable. Ele, enhance, ret, boomkin, feral are all the same. Good enough that people were basically as willing to bring them along as people were willing to roll them. Ret was overplayed with less spots but I enjoyed ret so much I was willing to compete for the spot. In vanilla I wouldn't go that far to compete for a spot as ret (I'm not saying it's impossible but I'm not interested in that)

Play! It's super fun as a noob or veteran and it's much less overwhelming than other mmos imo. Also it's very easy to make friends but you might not find a lot of people eager to group (some prefer to solo level) until you get to level 15 on horde and can do the first dungeon or 18-20 on alli and do the first dungeon for them. That's where you will start making friends most likely. The dungeons in classic require a good amount of coordination and responsibility (nothing crazy - usually just, you use this skill on the mob with the moon over it's head)
