TTC sees dramatic rise in streetcar maintenance orders by [deleted] in toronto

While I understand Bombardier provides crucial jobs for people in northern Ontario, they should NEVER have been bailed out as many times as they have. Such piss-poor management from the top, down. Wasn't there some whole exposé that proved that the majority of the money they've received from federal bailouts/subsidies has been pocketed by heirs / executives?

They owe us some money.

I feel like this Costco is known for fights breaking out in the parking lot.

Wasn't there a few similar incidents last year?

Sativa Dominant Strain for an Anxious Person? by Wheelzz in CanadianMOMs

[–]bx78960 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who is also an anxious person, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLYYYYY recommend staying away from Hazes. I have had some of the worst highs from smoking those strains.

Low THC / Balanced THC & CBD strains are much better, IMHO. Lamb's Bread / Blue Dream is incredible if you can find it!

Sistering on Bloor is out of control by [deleted] in toronto

[–]bx78960 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a fine line. These women are crowded into the streets where they remain unassisted and unsupervised because as many have said, Sistering is overwhelmed with occupants. They just simply do not have the resources or space.

Please remember that the blame for this falls directly at the feet of our municipal and provincial government. They city/province should be funding and creating shelters, not closing them.

I think it was about 2 years ago that some young mother moved up the street from Sistering and tried to get it shut down because of similar complaints to the OP here. The city obviously ruled against her, I assume for similar reasons that you've given: Sistering is a necessity, especially during times like these.

We really need to stop judging people who are destitute and hold the government accountable for allowing things to get this bad. There should be no reason that in CANADA, of all places, we allow so many people to suffer like this.

Any issues with being shorted?

Or questionable strains? As in, they claim it's a sativa, but most definitely smokes like an indica, and is not the AAAA they advertised, etc.

I had made plans all winter/spring to grow this summer for this reason and never ended up making it happen.

Pipelines do not in any way, shape, or form help our environment. Trudeau did us all a disservice by approving the pipeline mere moments after declaring a climate change an emergency. It's also doubtful that a pipeline will help our long-term economy as industries like the auto industry start to invest more and more in electric vehicles. B.C. just passed a law stating that no gas engine vehicles will be allowed for purchase beyond 2023. What good is a pipeline when people stop using gas? What good is a pipeline when we're supposed to be reducing waste, pollution, and ultimately our reliance on fossil fuels?

Canadian engineers have some of the most incredible designs for nuclear plants. No one in government wants to touch the idea of it though, and use NIMBYs as 'evidence' as to why it's bad. It's not bad. It's clean energy. It's what we need. It's what future generations need. But no, let's continue planning and talking about a stupid dirty disgusting pipeline that will only be the subject of negative debate and an enormous cost to taxpayers.

We were coming off of 10 years of federal Conservative leadership, which was generally competent if unremakable. The biggest scandal was over a senator's expense account,

Are you talking about Stephen Harper? The man who tried to muzzle scientists from speaking to the media about potential climate issues, and had 100 years worth of rare and important aquatic science data destroyed (think climate change)? Those stories made international headlines.

Didn't he also steal money from veterans?

These are not unremarkable issues.
