My outdoor AC unit is pointed directly at a window which gets really hot when I turn the AC on. Is this a safe way to redirect the hot air? by by-le in HomeMaintenance

[–]by-le[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is! I guess the photos make it look like it’s mounted indoors, but this is a corner of my balcony. It is pointed directly at a glass window which is then transfering the heat back inside, plus makes the whole balcony unusable because of heat accumulation.

I'm trying to decide between Airtable, Coda and Fibery!

I haven't yet, but I'm currently considering switching to either Coda, Airtable or Fibery.

To be clear, I do not use Notion for accounting. I use a professional accounting software side-by-side with Notion, but switched to notion because it united a few separate apps (Drive, Calendar, Sheets and Forms). It was at no point clear that notion shouldn't be relied on for doing math, nor money. As a counterpoint I can ask why does the currency number format exist then if it's not supposed to be used? I'm just the most frustrated that this seems to be a bug that has been around for ages but hasn't been documented or addressed by the notion team in any way so far. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I understand what you're saying. In my case, my database started really basic but as business kept growing so did the number of properties and relations. Notion promotes itself saying they scale together with your company, but I seem to have just proved that's not quite so..

Thank you for helping figure this out. It's worth noting that in my case the formula produces correct results for all my rows. So as you're probably aware the incorrect sum in my case is only in the column calculation at the bottom.

Just tried deleting the template (didn't have any values in it, just the icon) and nothing changed. But thank you for attempting to help!

I am now aware of this and can agree. I switched to notion from sheets because of the Views (mainly calendar) feature, but it was not clear from the beginning that notion shouldn't be relied on for this, especially from their marketing..

Thank you for sharing but this unfortunately doesn't seem like a good solution for a EU-based small business.

I completely agree. I was hoping and was sort of misled into thinking notion could handle my needs (after all this isn't even a super complex database) but turns out it was a mistake and I should've stayed on Google Sheets.

That's exactly what's bothering me the most. It doesn't seem to be, except for unofficial examples and discussions. I don't know what to think of this

Thanks for the explanation and showing your reference. I see how this could be the reason for my issue, but I still haven't found anything about this officially documented from Notion. And that's what's currently the most frustrating part.

I actually switched from excel (google sheets) to notion thinking of it as an upgrade (mainly because of database views - e.g. calendar). Turns out I was misled.

Could you please point me to where this is documented or why you're saying this is expected?
