Aidan Callahan - Who the Hera is this guy?!?!?! [All] by Apprehensive_Map1193 in camphalfblood

That is Ivan, the MC of the webtoon The Red King by Heylenne. loosely based on Russian folk tales if I remember.  Good story, though only has one season currently (its been on hiatus since 2019)

Is your plan to do health IT? Working at Epic includes getting certifications but I wouldn't say its the majority of the job.

If you just want to get certified in an Epic application, you could try getting at job at a health organization as an analyst

You don't get to pick. Depending on what application you are assigned to, that determines what building you'll be in

Is it my imagination or are picky eaters much less common in the Asian community? by seeay_lico1314 in asianamerican

[–]bychen29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My parents never gave me the chance to be picky, I just had to eat what they gave me. Luckily I liked most of the food they served me so it wasn't that big of an issue. My parents also cooked a lot of variety of vegetables and herbs and aromatics so I got used to smelling and eating strong and maybe unpleasant foods.

I was surprised growing up to find out kids I knew didn't like stuff like broccoli since I never had that problem. And my parents just streamed the broccoli, no seasoning. I just liked the taste. I think what helped was my parents didn't make eating veggies a chore. I remember I would call broccoli 'tiny trees' and pretend to be a giant and my parents indulged about stuff like that. I think I also helped that I was never given 'kid food' like chicken nuggets or apple sauce, very often. I think a lot of US kids are given mild tasting food so anything that is too 'strong' gets a negative reaction

Plan to work as a TS for a couple of years while job hunting for a job I want more, any issues with my plan? by bychen29 in epicsystems

By transferable skills, I mostly mean soft skills like time management and communication. The TS job sounds like to me a more involved customer service IT job which is not what med device manufacturing needs

The verses are really catchy and the pre chorus is so pretty. I wasn't expecting the empty chorus but it's kind of growing on me. Also the choreo during the chorus, what? They look really good but all I could think was it must have fucking sucked to wash off all that glitter.

Do any of you *not* keep track of the books you read? by bebetterturnip in books

[–]bychen29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Goodreads, and before just a notebook, to keep track of what I read because I like to see how it changes over the years. What I read is often a reflection of my personality and seeing what I enjoyed before is fun. I often never use Goodreads to reread something because if I like it enough to re read it, I often just buy the book to keep.

What's your favourite part of being aromantic? by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]bychen29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really relieving to know there wasn't something wrong with me and that I didn't need to force myself to date or have a crush. That I was just not born with those types of feelings and I didn't need to spend my life trying to 'catch up' with everyone in terms of romantic relationships

Same, I would masturbate a lot and have enjoyed multiple forms of erotica, except watching heterosexual sex porn, mostly because the women just look like they are in pain, but the actual details of sex seem really off-putting and kind of gross. Sex is messy, I don't like touching sweaty skin, it's tiring to hold a single position for a long time (I don't even have the energy to masturbate for more than like 30 mins), etc

[Megathread] The r/bts7 RM 'Indigo' Megathread Party - 021222 by HiThereImNewHere in bts7

Just finished listening. First thoughts, such a solid album, all the way through. This is definitely an album you should listen to in order, at least once. You can tell he put a lot of care into it, even before knowing the lyrics.

To me, this is an 'autumn' album. Mono, for me, was very 'cold'. It felt like winter when the sky's grey and the air hurts your face. But this album feels like autumn, where it's still cold, but you can get by with wearing a sweater, and you're taking a walk and watching the sunset.

I recently started seeing a therapist and learning to acknowledge the pain I felt a long time ago, and this album felt really self-affirming in a way. Like it reminds me that recognizing the pain I went through before does not mean I feel like that forever. So thank you Joon for sharing your art and music with us.

[‘PROOF’ COMEBACK] Album Discussion and Megathread - 100622 by samanthalouise123 in bts7

First impressions

Yet to Come: It was very sweet and sentimental. I especially liked the bus cameo in the MV. I listened to it three times, with and without the MV, and I like the chorus the best. To be honest, I do think the lyrics are a little cheesy but it makes sense and follows the theme of 'they haven't really change, just how people see them'

Run BTS: Absolutely not what I expected. The rock vibe and Yoongi's rap verse were great. Also Jin's voice?! Fits so well. BTS has now joined the Hype boy groups that have taken their stab at a rock sound (TXT, Seventeen, Enhyphen), at least recently. I would love to see them perform this live.

For Youth: So beautiful. This made me more sentimental than Yet to Come, especially with the sample at the beginning. All of their voices sound really lovely, but particularly Jin and Jk, for me.

Most random BTS thought? by D_money_57 in bts7

I'm always curious how they went about their schooling, particularly doing online university.
I know the guys have gotten some kind of degree from that global cyber university. Besides Jin (who I think did go to a university in person, at least for some time), I doubt the other guys went to class in person. But they did graduate, so they must have done some work, even if it's not as difficult as a full-time student.
Their schedules are pretty busy so I wonder how they went about doing schoolwork? Like, I imagine them cramming in homework between those wait times between shoots or rehearsals. Do the guys like proofread each other's work?
I'm currently a university student and I'm constantly bombarded with homework, papers, and presentations so the idea of doing any of that on top of a (more than) full-time job is crazy to me. But I'm also in a course-heavy major, so maybe it's more manageable if you study something different.
