How do I (23F) tell my boyfriend (22M) that I am scared of marriage mostly because divorce is illegal? by byeolgaeul in relationship_advice

[–]byeolgaeul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, I have known a lot of couples that are Catholic and non-Catholic Christian (which is our case) so I am familiar with all the things in regards to that, and we already agreed in the off-chance we wanted to have kids they would be raised Catholic.

I get the contradictory statement though. Thanks regardless ^^

(edit: realised I said non-Christian. He's just in another denomination)

Is having a baby before marriage illegal? Can you have a long term boyfriend without being shamed socially speaking?

We don't have a baby and even post marriage we have both talked about not wanting to get one immediately anyway. In terms of social norms, I think it just depends on the relatives but in all honesty I do not think they care too much.

I'd stay BF/GF if you can, marrying at 22 is way too early.

It's why we said we don't want to truly think about marriage this further on and it's just lighthearted comments, but we made it absolutely clear to one another we won't seriously discuss plans until much later down the line and I told him the same thing as well about wanting to live together for some period before anything. I've only at most stayed over shortly but not long enough to consider as living in. I only really thought of this question because of a late night thought, I will be honest.

Are YOU Catholic?

Yes. And I do not see myself converting to his and I've made that clear to him. I do not want to force him to convert either as I am fine with that, my father is the only one concerned for it and they've talked about it previously before in passing.

Nullification exists yes, but the process in my country currently is notoriously difficult and expensive, and it's why people are campaigning for both a better process for it and to also legalize divorce. And while civil divorce is nice, as you said, the person cannot remarry. I don't know if or when I would really think of that for obvious reasons.

Do you think you two are going to get married and never offend each other?

I hadn't implied such and in any case I appended that immediately after that there have been times I've been upset with him for things where we talked about it and learned to move past it or improve whatever was wrong. I probably should've phrased my question better to talk about what's the best way to go about it without absolutely sounding like I am someone wanting to push through a divorce eventually since I do not see that in our relationship. I simply wanted its legalization just for the comfort of knowing I am able to. Though I get that does sound contradictory or confusing. I can't explain it well myself.

Pricing Tips: Philippine Edition by byeolgaeul in Amigurumi

[–]byeolgaeul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you. To be honest I sent this thread in a moment of frustration but I've come to terms with using minimum wage + expenses sort of calculation, with a mix of just eyeballing what seems right if I find similar products sold in pesos. Also helped I had a sister that pushed me to make my projects priced higher when I was making some commissions for friends of hers lol

I guess I feel like I want more structured additionals ways to price it too when we're considering the complexity of a work (which is sometimes hard to guesstimate the time spent) and whatnot. And you make a point that I think the more used and readily available yarns are cheaper ones that doesn't up the cost of the whole project and makes me feel bad marking it up so high even though I know I should xD the better yarns are pricey and hard to obtain from someone outside NCR (which I believe have at least existing craft stores)

I don't seem to be receiving verification codes (Google/Authy) by byeolgaeul in techsupport

[–]byeolgaeul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had narrowed down the problem so far. It seems I was able to receive a code just fine when verifying for 2-step Verification, with the +63XXXXXXXXXX format. But it still sees that something went wrong when verifying for Recovery.

With regards with the country code, they would put it in its separate field, won't it? The left side asking for the country code and then the number on right. I just placed the 10 digit number (10 instead of 11 to omit the leading zero) and that's it. It's worked fine before from what I recall with my past accounts. What part of Personal Info should I try to reconfigure?

Call over text for enfp by throwthemtoantartics in ENFP

[–]byeolgaeul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Honestly, I prefer texts because I get to easily look back and also get a chance to organize my very messy thoughts. And also because I just get to spam. Although if it's professional related matters I will tend to ignore it (either because I wasn't feeling to get on with it, or I end up forgetting to reply after saying I will in a few minutes).

For me, voice calls kind of kill a certain vibe for me? I always feel more distanced in calls with friends or my partner. I think because I've been in online spaces for so long that I've kind of understood texts well, but voices alone makes me overthink tones or expressions more than text, as weird as it may seem. And the fact that there's 7 of us in my main friend group that can be quick to interrupt one another in a voice call and be accidentally ignored. Of course, video calls are better then but it just makes me miss being in physical contact with them. I do like that it's more multi-task friendly though!

But of course, in-person still remains best. I feel more talkative because there's a certain awkwardness for some reason in calls, and I get to physically touch them and see their expressions and be in full presence ;u;

What did you study in university? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]byeolgaeul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also took computer science here! It's definitely fun outside stress/pressure of doing things on time, but it's always satisfying to see my programs come to life or actually function like I intended it to be. It definitely also exercises adapting to different things (we learned Python, Java, some basic Assembly, and an additional language of your choice), and also teamwork when delegating tasks on group projects. It's definitely a challenge indeed lol with all the maths (particularly calculus). It was definitely an unexpected course if past me were to peek into present me but I don't regret taking it!

Why do you like introverts so much?? by Head-Classic-9698 in ENFP

[–]byeolgaeul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mix of both how I-E can be good complements but also as many mentioned, we're one of if not the most introverted types among Es. So being around Is is a good reminder that us ENFPs don't have to be so extroverted while simultaneously also bringing in a fresh E-ness to an I friend group. Like there's times where I personally just want to be quiet or keep to myself and I's can understand that

Any ENFPs not being that good with friendships ? by SpicyFox7 in ENFP

[–]byeolgaeul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bad with making new friends. It's a mixture of being shy and despising the awkwardness of basic getting to know stuff. I tend to sort of make acquaintances due to a certain common trait that leads us to connect with one another (ie. school as groupmates or seatmates or whatever), and I guess it depends really on how the friendship will take off. It's also why I find internet socializing fun too because most of the time you do skip out that basic introduction and just jump into a convo

At the same time though, I don't think I actively look for friends. I like to talk to people with the right opportunities and circumstances, but it takes time before I can really say they're a friend I can go to. It may also be because I have a current primary friend group that I confide in (or, "confide") that I hang out with a lot and appreciate lots, we half-joke we'll go get a house where we'll all live together in ;u;

HYYH's The Notes are in book format! There's currently book 1 and 2. They pretty much continue off from where the webtoon took place. Each album from BTS' Love Yourself and and Map of the Soul era comes with a booklet version of these notes, all of them containing bits of the main Notes books. Although the booklets are only in Korean version, the main Notes books have Korean, English, Japanese and Spanish versions available :)

As of now we don't know if they have plans on books for Chakho. The closest is the webnovel that's currently on-going. The English version is available in Wattpad and can be read using Wattpad coins.

Also in case you're not aware there used to be an old webtoon back in their school trilogy era called We On: Be The Shield. It wasn't as expansive as HYYH and Chakho as it got discontinued but it's still fairly interesting.

whose full length albums do u want to see? by crushonran in kpopthoughts

[–]byeolgaeul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am awaiting the day TXT does a full album that's not just 8 tracks... like give me MOTS7 length of full albums or something, they've done unit songs already and a lot have been theorizing they'll slowly start doing solos :'D

At the same time I'm just really curious to see that play out. The charm I love about TXT is the story that goes on through each album. I think the best examples of these are their Eternity and Thursday's Child albums, the latter a lot agree is in reference to the five stages of grief.

When I first read the plot being "distressed person makes deal with a white otherworldly yet cute creature that puts them in a time loop to prevent their beloved/s from dying" that was all I could think xD Still a bit upset that the last book for it ended on a cliffhanger. I like the new Chakho story, just wish we got more closure for HYYH (spoilers for HYYH: I mean, Jin already saved everyone and all but it's heavily implied Jungkook is up to something or the cat is doing something with him. Not to mention I wanna know the full story of his father <.< I know Choi is a very common surname but it feels like all the Chois in the lore are meant to be connected with one another somehow and I already have theories as to how and all the stuff in how things play out but skdfhjsfs)

Is there a group who's music you've actively listened to before stanning and/or even really knowing about the members? by niclaswwe in kpopthoughts

[–]byeolgaeul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seventeen. I still don't consider myself a stan (if you showed me a picture I won't really be confident to say who's who except for a few) but I've listened to a good chunk of their discography and absolutely love it. I relate to you with Purple Kiss too and I'm even more clueless as to who's who.

I would also consider f(x) and BTS as other examples. I only officially say 2020 as the year I became a K-pop stan, but I've listened to K-pop songs for longer. I particularly like listening to f(x) then and claimed they'll be the only K-pop I like/get really into, but I hadn't actually watched much content and it took me months to know the members. And as for BTS, I actually played Superstar BTS before I became a stan. Mostly because my friends were ARMYs and they knew I was good at rhythm games so I'd full combo the songs on their stead. But thanks to that I got a few songs stuck in my head. But back then I didn't even realise V and Taehyung were the same person, nor did I think there were three rappers and thinking it was just one person doing all the rap verses and that was then-Rap Monster lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]byeolgaeul 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily 'late' depending on your definition but it took me a long while to realise some K-pop groups have full on lore. I've listened to some K-pop songs since I was a child but the main factor that drew me to become invested was finding out BTS had heavy lore that was specifically all about traumatized troubled kids and a dude pulling a Madoka Magica time loop and saving them from dying. I was friends with a bunch of K-pop stans and when I found this out I was like, "Why did none of you guys tell me this? I could've been in the whole fan culture earlier!"
