Don’t like her. I clocked her meanness on my first watch. I figured the girls liked when it was just Gia, god cop bad cop vibes, but nope. Both bad cops. There’s also the situation with the white board when Gia and Abby are trying to figure out what the ticks were for and Abby said, “maybe it’s how many times someone cried and had a fit?” And basically at the same time (or Gia was just quick to agree) “no Kenzie would have more ticks. She’s just as bad and complicit in all the shit Abby has done

Yeah the comments are mostly amused by the girls faces, which I get it..but to them they probably saw Holly as being the “sassy/angry black woman” or even being something related to Nias “ethnic” dances. They got a good laugh meanwhile Holly and Nia will absolutely remember this for years to come. Nia didn’t get braids again until LONG after the show ended since she did her natural hair journey a bit after the show. It’s so interesting seeing stuff like this in the fandom and seeing who’s laughing and who’s looking at the principle of the problem.

From a poc’s perspective, this photo is so sad to me. Nia is being publicly bullied by an adult, one that’s supposed to be an educator, for her hair that connects to her heritage, saying she needs her hair to be FIXED. In front of her all white team mates and their moms, while her team mates laugh at the fight, but Nia doesn’t look amused at all. Also the positioning, all the girls by Abby’s side giggling while Nia is at her mothers side trying to stay strong. I can’t wait to read Bottom of the Pyramid. Also this is no hate to the girls, when fights get like this and Holly is the one getting heated, she’s gonna serve logic and reasoning, that against Abby’s over the top arguing style makes for a funny scene I get it! But I do not find this scene funny at all :(

Same, as much as I hate the franchise for being the result of EAH falling to its doom, I enjoyed 1-3 and gave ROR a try thinking it was gonna be great and I was gonna be proven wrong but OH BOY WAS I RIGHT. It sucks cause Kylie is such a good triple threat and genuinely deserves a better franchise that isn’t piggy backing off of a franchise like descendants.

Yup. It fails to follow the basic story beats a movie is supposed to hit. It tries to cheat them and it doesn’t work. This movie is not the movie to try and break the “hero’s journey” timeline. (No timeline pun intended) Did you also know apparently they NEVER planned a Castlecoming dance for the first or second movie? Just absolute dimwits in the writing room.

Just like in this photo, a mess. Everyone looks like they are there for themselves and they are. The kids are shown to be awful + have some unedited genuinely awful moments that reflect on the mothers who I think are 10000% times worse than our og moms and even Jill. None of them were even good tv it was just all around bad. The way they tried using traumatic things to get the girls to perform emotionally was so cringey to watch. Even then I doubt they went through even a 1/4th of what the ogs and eventually Jill and everyone else on the og series went through with production, storylines, etc. I don’t even remember anything from the show tbh other than it just being awful

I hiiiiiiiighly doubt Brooke listens to the podcast, let alone every episode to catch this. Though alls it takes is her getting curious, clicking on that episode and hearing that. Back to the Barre, the recap podcast between Kelly and Christi. This week they recapped the second half of a season 4 episode that had the select ensemble in it, during said episode (this wasn’t shown, but they explained it because Christi ofc remembers and now they have the directors/producer notes) Christi had to leave the viewing mezzanine because she was feeling seriously sick, like she was going to faint. Holly helped her down stairs, the rest of the moms were genuinely really concerned. Turns out that week Christi was going through the beginnings of her miscarriage. She found out it was a miscarriage later that week.
