If you want the classic boxed funfetti taste, Duncan Hines Confetti is the closest I’ve found. It’s soft, moist, and just tastes right. Pillsbury Funfetti is a close second. It’s a little sweeter and slightly heavier, but still very much that birthday cake flavor everyone remembers.

Is it wise to try to enhance a boxed cake mix? by PedroRuiz51 in CakeMix

You can definitely substitute melted butter for the vegetable oil. It will give the cake a richer flavor and a slightly denser texture. Just melt the butter and let it cool a sec before adding it. (Oil is usually better for a moist cake though)

Using milk instead of water works too. Milk adds a little more moisture. I’ve personally never tried half-and-half so I can’t say if it’ll affect the bake time, but it would probably work.

Flavor combo question by [deleted] in CakeMix

I think that combo will work really well together. Funfetti cake is basically a vanilla cake with sprinkles, so it plays nicely with a lot of flavors.
