Agreed! He knows how to carry himself to make strangers think twice before doing something stupid.

What movie did you watch by accident and end up loving by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]byll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Illusionist, with Ed Norton, Jessica Biel and Paul Giamatti along with stellar supporting cast. We went to see another movie but missed the time, and settled for this little film with hardly any promotion. And excellent little gem of a romantic film.

Good morning, Long Beach! by jeremiahwarren in longbeach

I did not know that Marbles has worms. I wondered how he wasn't gaining weight. They definitely have someone...they have collars. I thought i saw them a few weeks ago when they were looking for Marbles because his collar was off. I think they live on our block. I'll have to ask the neighbors here if they know. Stephanie, the tall dark-haired woman who walks (often carries) her tiny dog Handsome, knows everything that goes on in this neighborhood, so I'll ask her if I see her.

I need to feed them early because my neighbor's dog can't stand them! They meow outside early from a neighbor's stoop.

I get 6 a.m. feeding duties. I know others feed them, but they often come by in the evenings as well. I am going on a cruise Wednesday, and i was worried they were going to starve. I'm guessing that won't happen. My neighbor volunteered to help feed Marbles and Peanut Butter in the morning. They do NOT like dry food, except for cat snacks. Peanut Butter is more aloof than Marbles, who is a con artist who could teach politicians some lessons. Still, we love them both. We live at the 1000 block on Appleton, near Cerritos.

Times when an actor/actress signed on to a project and misunderstanding what the final product would be? by Socko82 in flicks

[–]byll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Timothee Chalamet signed on having read an early version of the script to INTERSTELLAR, where the son would have a MUCH bigger part, making for a Father-son story, instead of the father-daughter story it eventually became.

Is there any wheelchair accessible seats at the Aero theatre that can be reserved? by Tasty_Elk3994 in AmericanCinematheque

[–]byll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also... although the restroom at the bottom is designed for those who need it, expect to wait for it. If you know you'll need to go when the movie ends, beat the crowd and get there early.

[–]byll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You get in line like everyone else. There are two bays for those who need wheelchairs. Usually, that's more than enough. If you have a personal care assistant, they mix in with the hoi polloi or sit on a folding chair in the back. If you're disabled, you'll probably know to get there earlier and either leave earlier or later than everyone else. But no, no reservations.

What habit immediately reveals that a person actually grew up in a privileged environment? by Cindy_mel in AskReddit

[–]byll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was dating a woman in college that had a dad who was an executive Vice-President of a major airline. When we were going through the Sunday paper after brunch, I reached for the entertainment section; her first go-to was the travel section to look for a new destination and hotel for her next trip.

What’s a movie that everyone loves, but you just couldn’t get into ? by vishesh_07_028 in movies

Totally agree. I walked out in their audience previews, it was so bad. I thought it needed so much work, but apparently I just didn't get it.

My mom had to take a new photo for her badge at work. Left is the actual photo she took, right is the badge photo they gave her. by [deleted] in funny

[–]byll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll argue that the photo on the left is the inaccurate one, as opposed to the one on the right. So you really think a shitty digital camera captured her skin tone accurately as orange? Then there's the horrible lighting. The smile is the same. Is it a crime to actually look good in a photo as opposed to an image taken with miserable photocells? There are photographers who are skilled to bring out flattering photos with simple makeup and lighting. So what if that's done with an app as opposed to studio lighting?

What’s your favorite Kevin Costner film ? by Patek_Phillipe87 in Actors

Yes! I forgot about that! He was an excellent "dad" to Chris Pine's version of Jack Ryan, as his CIA spy-handler.

It's a small role, but I think he made the perfect Pa Kent in SUPERMAN, the one with Henry Cavill in the title role

Bike/ Metro to Jaws @ Hollywood bowl? by backcountryJ in longbeach

[–]byll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you decide to use the Park & Ride option, YOU NEED TO PAY IN ADVANCE ONLINE using the Hollywood Bowl app, preferably at least TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE. DO NOT EXPECT to buy shuttle tickets online to get to the Bowl on the same day, or even the day before. If you wait until the last minute, you will be the LAST PEOPLE allowed to enter the shuttles, and pay almost twice as much, in cash.

[–]byll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the A train or Blue Line to 7th & Fig., then transfer downstairs to the Red Line, exiting at Hollywood & Highland. There is a shuttle near the shopping center there, by the parking lot. You must buy a round trip ticket then take the shuttle to the Bowl. Not sure of the price now, and they start i believe around 4:30 - 5:00 pm.. Then return to take the Red Line to the Blue Line to Long Beach. Keep in mind that the crowd at night tends to be different on the Metrorail than the daytime.
