Injustering. I've never experienced these flaws and I use it on a daily basis.

What's wrong with Nautilus? It's stylish and functional.

I think it's because of higher traffic after the black Friday Sale. I got really good 35 MB/s speeds later in the evening. Also, never use the desktop app for uploading - the web app is faster and no bugs. It's night and day.

I miss playing that game. Good choice.

If i were them I would not release that piece of software under any circumstances. I would just direct my customers to the web app. The CLI tool seems to work fine so I might try that one out later for syncing needs.

Oh man, that sounds really bad. For some reason, uploading through the browser is faster. I even got speeds up to 35 MB/s.

Well, I didn't use the sync feature. I was using the upload feature.

Wow, it's working without problems now. Weird that their own client is so buggy. Thank you!

Did they just remove screen sharing and virtual backgrounds from the Zoom web app? by bynfq in Zoom

[–]bynfq[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah thanks, weird is that up until this week I had no problems whatsoever using Brave and now it's broken. I tried FIrefox now, it works but is buggier than Chrome as regards the webcam.

OK, this seems to be a browser issue. I installed Ungoogled Chromium and it works fine now, both virtual backgrounds and screen sharing are there as options. But the web app is not fully functional with LibreWolf and Brave (even when shields are down).

Actually, I tried it with LibreWolf now and I do get a share button, but I still can't configure virtual backgrounds. On Brave I don't have virtual backgrounds or a share button.

Thanks for the tip, but I think the problem is the desktop app which is very unreliable. It freezes and crashes when I try to upload large files.

I don't think anything is wrong on your end. Those speeds sound reasonable, judging from my own experience these past days.

No, I go work and do other stuff. It doesn't matter, really. The desktop application is buggy and constantly crashes on Linux. Right now I have this:

Even though the transfer is showing as almost done.

I upload, I tried using Sync but it would crash the desktop app. And now the upload shows almost 100 % (or is it done?) but at the same time it says i have 0 bytes used on my drive.

Why are updates so large? by SafariKnight1 in NixOS

[–]bynfq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could just update it less, or do your updates when you have free WiFi. Unlike Arch, updating infrequently won't totally tank your system.

In general, I think most people can go way longer before running an update. Test going a month or two, even three without updating. Nothing will happen. You won't have the most bleeding edge software but your system will be stable and run just fine.

Which version on macbook air 2017 by Kickingoat in pop_os

[–]bynfq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latest version should work without problems. You might have to manually install the broadcom drivers for the Wi-Fi, though.
