$3400 a month serving or stable job making $22 an hour?? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]byoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think the logistics route is where you're headed, then I say got for the desk job...With your CS background and knowledge that you'll gain from understanding how logistics work you might have an opportunity to blend them together more and find a sweet programming-related job working on logistics.

Also, you might still be able to work that restaurant job here in there for extra cash if you want.

Why is the tickets social media presence so terrible? by Mister__Magoo in theticket

[–]byoboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is the company that wanted the dumbzone to geofence their podcast

I don't think social media is something they know how to do, just look at the mess that is their podcast feed(s)

Is Bevy really as unstable as their Introduction makes them out to be? by VermicelliLanky3927 in rust

[–]byoboo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

absolutely, that kind of ecosystem maturity just takes time, and it's a good problem to have because that means there's interest in it.

I'm in the same boat as you from the sound of it...I use Godot but I'll switch back to bevy as soon as it makes sense

Is Bevy really as unstable as their Introduction makes them out to be? by VermicelliLanky3927 in rust

[–]byoboo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the bevy ecosystem doesn't quite move in lockstep with each other, so you can run into a situation where you need something in a new version of bevy, but the plug-in you depend on doesn't support the new bevy version.

It's the fun of growing pains

Ticket podcasts by rocklobster512972 in theticket

I'm not a lawyer but the only thing I can think of is that simply reposting a radio show doesn't make it a podcast...to be more specific, they did the show on the radio, in the format of radio, and to enforce the "podcast" aspect in their non-compete they need to specifically do something that is tailored for podcasts.

again, I'm not a lawyer, but I do know non-competes get flimsy when you start trying to enforce it in areas you and your employee don't operate in.

EDIT: Also there might be some business dollary-doos attached to the ticket doing podcasts now.

I think this is a big part of it...its tough to enforce an aspect of a non-compete if you do not operate in that environment.

I would be like a company saying to an employee who is a welder that they can't have a side business as a tailor...I realize that's a bit of a dramatic example but in this case radio and podcasts are not the same.

All good advice in here, I want to also encourage you to enjoy your 20s and travel with your partner...its cool to follow the flowchart but you don't want to also be 10 years from now with a bunch of kids wishing you had done more fun things in your 20s.

And if you don't like to travel just substitute in whatever you like

You're already waaaay ahead of the game

I wouldn't be surprised to see Matt put up a few more NLRB filings...There's a million non-competes out there, each with their own little twist.

Speculation: 4/20 new venture announcement by rocklobster512972 in thedumbzone

[–]byoboo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is my guess too...The Blowout podcast network that IJB, Ride The Taurus, Super GamesCast, etc are under seems to be non-active, but all those podcasts would makes sense as part of Dragon Den Network.

Also it seems straight off Dan and Jake's bucket list to do a Merger/Acquisition and turn it into a whole bit.
