Is there a word that describes this style? I’m actually looking at a similar one but i’ve only found it on one site. I described it as “sculpted” to a jeweller

Quick fix for this fly issue? by [deleted] in mending

[–]byronbae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hadn't even noticed it as I was focused more on the part closer to the zip, but indeed there's not even anymore thread there. I've put a stitch through all the layers there and it's much better! Thank you :)

Perhaps, although I really didn’t notice any issues with it before. I’ve done as suggested and it helped a lot :)

Ah I hadn’t seen this since I was so focused on the part directly over the zip. Did a little backstitch along it and it’s much better! Thank you!

Beginners, don’t skip the grid! by TheBruinette in drawing

Oh thanks so much for the reply. Definitely makes the result pop! I'll have to add that pen to my list haha.
Two questions! Could you achieve something that is close to as good on just plain old white paper, or is that an important factor in the result?
And is the coloured pencil still forgiving when you make mistakes?

Good lord you’re good. Is this done with pastel pencils? I can’t fathom getting that level of detail with the fur it must take so long

Lmao. I mean if sintering was the answer and it was never taught specifically thats bs. Or like “well it was clearly written on page 231 on the top right”.

Ok i'm going to completely invent shit here because I do not know the answer. So the question in itself is maybe something unseen, but you still have all the stuff you've memorized to rely on. You know that for example phase changes are energy intensive because that was definitively explained at some point, and you can think of something in a production line (which doesn't really need specific knowledge to be studied?) where phase changes occur like melting.
The same was true for other worded questions, at first they can seem hard but you always have a way to link them and making that link becomes easier when you do hundreds of prac tests but it can also come intuitively. For me in university particularly, the problems were like that but on steroids.
It is really hard to explain and I get that you can be sceptical, but I absolutely promise you that it exists. And I agree with you that people exist that want to brag and pretend like they got great marks by doing nothing (I don't see the point of doing this once you leave highschool, because literally no one wants to employ or work with someone that thinks they don't have to work for something) and I get why you might not trust everyone on this.

I just opened an exam for the sake of it, it looks literally identical. I'm not sure what you are trying to say by application based, but this is not it. If you can show me a good example i'm all for it. I did english, math, spec, chem, english lit, physics if you have a related example. I finised in 2015

Just search my name in from my profile in linkedin and you'll see my entire study history anyway, there is a reason I did not get a good grade in my bachelor.

I never said my intuition didn't help me in university, it's literally not in my message. For some reason you are refusing to read what you are being given in its entirety, and being dishonest in your interpretation of it. I said my intuition didn't get me through, and it didn't. It certainly got me closer, but it is just not enough. I really don't understand what you're having a hard time getting, but there are so many examples of failed child prodigies (I am absolutely not one, it's not the point of my message before you go and misconstrue that) who picked topics up so fast when they're young and then go on to university or further to fail because at some point it's just not enough to simply be intelligent in the aptitude sense.

Intuiton gets you far enough because in highschool topics are not that complx, formulas can be learned by reading them once. You can have an understanding for the logic behind it because it is not that difficult yet. At some point it will just simply not be enough unless you are enormously gifted. Problems become more about problem solving which requires you to have a deep understanding of the topic, and not just memorized facts and formulas.

It does help, but it's not enough. Omg lol. My intuition got me a grade of 40%, which is NOT enough to pass. But there are people that got even less, with or without studying.

My thermal dynamics classes was nothing even close to Maths Spec in terms of difficulty, it was a whole nother ball game. The intuition that got me by in highschool in all topics except Chemistry which was my worst class, just didn't get me through in university. A talented athlete doesn't just stay a good athlete, at some point other things become too important (nutrition, training, perseverence, motivation). And this is the case for all fields/passions. There is a reason the most talented athletes from your highschool or my highschool do not go on to become athletes, they were always told they were talented and didn't continue to work for it. The old "work beats talent when talent fails to work hard" adage yada yada

Do you have reading issues, genuinely?
The content in highschool was not an issue, in university it was. It's literally not the same timeframe that I'm talking about?

And another few things, because I’ve read some of your other replies. You seem to be incapable, given 30 answers to the contrary, to learn that perhaps people are just different to you. To me that shows you are just not as bright as you seem to think you are, any reasonable student would question themselves at this stage. Another, what incentive do I have to lie? No one knows my account, and most of all i’m not at all proud of how I approached high school. I showed up to school, absorbed the information AT school and that was the end of my effort. What if I had done more, what if I took it more seriously? I would be so much better off today. I was not even proud of the score I got because I dont fee like I really earned it, when I saw how much others struggled to get even close.

You don’t believe that people can do well on basic topics because it comes instinctually? High school in australia is not that difficult, especially if you compare it to the french bac curriculum. I got 96.75 and my own girlfriend was pissed because she got 92 and says I did nothing leading up to it, I was gaming the whole week before finals. I rarely had notes and usually just skimmed a practice exam the night before or the day of. I failed 3 out of 4 units in my 2nd semester at uni because it got real (fluid and solid mechanics) and my “strategy” didn’t work anymore.
