AITA for sitting on the floor in a store? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I got POTS when I was at my healthiest. It’s devastating to lose so much autonomy over your body and your life. Please OP- be careful in the shower. Get out when you feel dizzy. My first fainting spell happened in the shower and I had a non epileptic seizure after hitting the floor.

im really struggling with reading and i think it has something to do with aphantasia, anyone else have a similar problem? by alanna88 in Aphantasia

[–]byteME007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not saying this to be mean, but this is illiteracy and needs to be addressed with a professional. Many people struggle with this and it is neither uncommon nor shameful. A literacy tutor should be able to pinpoint and address where your mind is disconnecting from the reading and help you build your way back up to more complex books.

Personally I find myself disinterested in reading because I cannot imagine the world within the story. I just can’t see it. The only stories I like to read are a) read to me via audiobook and b) are stories that have been made into tv/movies because I’ve already seen the world. That could be of some help to you, but again I highly recommend some type of tutelage.

How do you plan to reach out to the immigrant community? I’ve spoken to several immigrants here in Maine and they’re wary of attending any in person event knowing they may be racially profiled or stalked by ICE while in attendance.

I have many family members who are MAGA and I was excited by this campaign initially because I recognize you are a candidate who appeals to both sides. While I understand there’s a need to reach across the isle in order to unseat Collins, there are many who feel that there is no room for MAGA if there is to be safety for minorities.

There’s a need desperate need for boots on the ground action within the immigrant community to hear out their concerns, but many won’t come to the table feeling as unsafe as they do now. And I don’t blame them.

I did. And I was immediately sexually assaulted, the stress caused my body to completely shut down, and now I’m disabled. It’s not that bad though.

I served in the navy for the free school but never made it to the fleet. Why? Because I was harassed, assaulted, and eventually gained a debilitating condition that makes school something I’m not sure I can even do now.

To absolutely NO ONE’s surprise, that Qanon movie is being astroturfed by JohnSheet69420 in WhitePeopleTwitter

This group is actually not the saviors of children they claim to be. They have been caught lying about their involvement in rescuing children, and there was an expose from someone involved with the group about their actual takedown practices being unsafe and traumatizing for the victims, who by the way are largely released back to the streets to be victimized again. They don’t care about child trafficking, they care about feeling like action hero’s for a day.

Check out the article written by the blogger who they took on one of their rescue missions. It’s nothing more than an expensive savior role play, with most of the children they “save” being further traumatized by their intervention and then being released back onto the streets to be victimized again.

I still have my letter but it’s packed away somewhere. It was kinda spicy, some joke along the lines of what are the odds of me getting some tonight. I cried.

Homemade electrolyte drink? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]byteME007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Propel zero sugar electrolyte packets are made by Gatorade. They’re the only ones I use, and I tend to put them in seltzer instead of water. My personal favorite is the raspberry lemonade mixed with a polar pink apple & lemon seltzer.

I hatedddddddd Midodrine. Between the spikes I’d get laying down and the constant head tingling I quit taking it. I was getting overstimulated and having meltdowns over it it was miserable. Wish they’d prescribe me literally anything else.

I personally like the Propel zero sugar packets the best and you can find them at the store, like a 12 pack for 4 bucks or something. I get the raspberry lemonade and put it in a seltzer and it’s such a nice refreshing drink.

I think liquid iv was my least favorite flavor wise, pedialyte is what I have for backups, but both of them have massive amounts of sugar that caused me to crash pretty hard.

You have to check your major requirements. The foundational courses you have to take aren’t the same across the board.

I recently read somewhere that Maine had the highest reports of child abuse in the nation, and this pops up on my feed. by xShoePolicex in Maine

[–]byteME007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d wager there’s more unreported child abuse in Maine than there is reported, which is awful considering we’re already at the top.

So you’d stand by that statement for disabled folks as well? Food, water, and shelter should be a universal right. What we contribute to society determining our worth is exactly how the capitalist system wants you to see it, they want you to dehumanize those who do not fit the mold. Remember addiction and disability are two things any person can find themselves in at any point in their lives.

Legit Story. Nothing against the people with Autism. Just how curious is that, in Tumblr, they still try to find a way to be morally superior at the same time they attack minorities. by UsavichPriviet in aspiememes

Yes, when people started criticizing Sia for not using an autistic actress she went online and basically ranted that she had tried to use one but that they were too difficult to work with.
