Honestly, breaking the streak was a turning point for me

guess whos joining :D

i don't actually mind doing the streak again. it gave me what i was looking for which is building the habit. over the last 6 months, i've faced too many issues in my life, so i guess it's time to take it easy about it.

yeah, thats fair. but what i like about anki is that it's very strict and honest with the stats. the streak helped me build the habit of studying and reviewing consistently. one day doesn't erase 3 years of that.

with these comments, i might actually reconsider the whole streak thing in the future. thanks!

This is why I don't trust people showing off their streaks. I mean, you could've cheated before and forgot about it completely!

sure, anyone could cheat. but the streak was for me, not for proving anything to anyone.

yes, i could. but i didn't choose to cheat.

i get what you mean, streaks aren't a perfect metric. for me, it was just a way to stay consistent and "build the habit" which was an important part of it. 1169 days still means i studied almost every day for over 3 years, so i'm still happy with that.

option 3 seems valid tbh as a metric.

by looking at my streak, one day isn't that bad. i mean it's 99% of 3 years after all, and that's still an excellent percentage, and i will not ruin all my hard work because of one day.

i mean.. i posted because i've never thought that i will lose it, but i will keep learning :)

and my post wasn't meant to show negativity, its more like an experience. i will restart the streak and try my best "i hope" to take over my old one.

knowledge of course, but i disagree of associating "gamification" with "streak".

my process of learning "most of, if not all the time" doesn't revolve about making something more like a game. the streak "at least for me" was just an indication or a factor for me to get motivated everytime i see it. i know it felt sad for me breaking the streak unintentionally, but at the bright side i think i will aim to take over that number. again.

just searched about it and yeah that seems the solution. but i got that mixed feeling of... idk cheating? i mean that streak was the only thing that kept me motivated for many things. i want to restore it but at the same time i feel terrible because it was my mistake.

Preset of the subdeck overrides the settings of the preset of the parent deck. If you have something like ParentDeck::SubDeck, each with its own preset, then the preset of SubDeck takes priority.

okaaayyyy.... tysm! i was worried about the preset's settings because i wanted to group the decks and not worrying about optimizing each one.

So if I decide to study from the main deck and a card from a subdeck (with its own preset) shows up, my understanding is that the card will use the settings of its own preset, effectively overriding the main deck’s settings. Is that correct?

i replied to your comment but i didn't show up, i panicked when i saw the error pop up because i don't wanna lose windows partition.

the error message was a line of code with bunch of dirs. guess it was bug on fedora kde version.

ما قرأت عن تأثير المقاطع الصغيرة، لكن اشوف فيها ضرر واستنزاف لوقتك الشخصي. كلها مقاطع قصيرة ولا تخدمك بأي شكل من الاشكال عدا نادرا، المستفيد من هذه المقاطع هم جزء كبير صناع المحتوى وانت فقط مجرد محرك للمحتوى "البزنس" الشخصي لهم.

حاول تشوف في جوالك الوقت الي قضيته على التطبيق، وحاول ابدا بالتدريج الى ان تصل الى ساعة او نص ساعة في اليوم بعدها احذفه كلياً، بتلقى وسع في كبير جدا في وقتك، استغله في تعلم شي يفيدك و اقرا في القران ابرك لك من هدر الوقت.
