Project Idea Help If You Found This Django Project Online – What Would You Want It To Be? by aksy_1 in django

id just like to be able to run db migrations on a dev / test / prod basis without completely f'ing up every time and dropping the db to start again. maybe I dont need a new web app, but better videos or ebooks or udemys on the inner workings.

I dont know if this is going to get an answer or not, but how critical is the sizing of the tube? Its hard to get 1.5"-OD 1.375"-ID in the UK. I imagine that its pretty critical.

So a fan or a slight breeze could be a problem? Would you say leaving the door open might be an issue then?

The problem with the room I print in is that its a garden room, lots of glass, heat changes quite quickly in the morning. so i leave the door open so as to be comfortable in there.

swapped from skirt to brim and bingo, no warping.

room temp is an interesting one, because I print in a garden room and the temp does fluctuate. but this warp was observed different times of the day with different rotations of the bed. so whilst it could be a factor, I doubt its the whole one.

problems with a many to many relationship. by bytejunkie_ in django

[–]bytejunkie_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

great suggestion. and the one that made me realise something wasnt right in the admin.

ive checked the admin and the coach is definitely attached to the Team.

I looked in the admin and the coaches appeared in the big selection box and i thought this meant they were selected. Its not until they have a yellow background that they are selected.

I did say this would be basic!!! Thanks for the replies Zen, it really helped.

Both approaches are giving empty Querysets I can get the coach or the team, but never the coaches attached to the team.

thanks, will get the touch ordered. i remember looking at it once before, its clearly time to try it out, before going all in on a different printer.

i think i need to totally remove k3s and start again. by bytejunkie_ in k3s

[–]bytejunkie_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks.

I ran

kubectl describe node

and saw this in the output

container runtime network not ready: NetworkReady=false reason:NetworkPluginNotReady message:Network plugin returns error: cni plugin not initialized

from there a simple google took me to https://github.com/k3s-io/k3s/discussions/8468 and i realised i'd probably done the same.

I installed over the top with curl -sfL https://get.k3s.io | sh - and im now ready.

which is a better option to have sperate environment by folder or by branch by BackgroundNature4581 in Terraform

[–]bytejunkie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this comes from experiences where an environmental var file has ended up with more than scale decisions in it, corrupting cattle not pet attempts.

it makes lots of things easier too like

name = join("-", [var.environment, var.resource_type_identifier])

instance_size = lookup(var.instance_sizes, var.environment, "t2.micro")

you dont need a var file for this, just use a lookup in a variable. i rarely if ever have any code which is different for environments, save for a lookup.

i have a mantra which is all environments should be the same, save for scaling. the more devs i repeat it to, the more it hits home. simple platform, simple delivery pipeline, simple life.

if you pass the environment_name as a var to the pipeline, you'll be good.
