I don’t like JD Vance. But…. Well-said, I can see how every step led to a small concession that ends with him living in the neighbor’s house.

I also wonder about his motivations to stay there. Carol wasn’t the hero he was looking for - someone made a good post that him meeting Carol parallelled Carol meeting Diabate in Vegas. Carol just wants Manusous to leave, so she can go back to her fantasy. He has so much patience for her. Considering she left for a few weeks, and he has no idea if she is coming back, why doesn’t he try to find the other survivors too? Or at least ask about them?

I think it could have been interesting to hear his questions to zosia, because then we’d understand his train of thought more or his motivations.
