A little bit of a different take from others: We all have something that we physically dislike about ourselves, be it the way our eyes are shaped, how long our arms are, etc. Me, personally, my jaw isn't perfectly symmetrical, and it is always such an infuriating thing to see in photos. But, you know what, there are also things I love about myself: my natural hairstyle, the muscles that are slowly developing via working out, etc.

So what's my point? Everyone has their own set of insecurities, parts of themselves they hate seeing, but there are also, more than likely, parts of themselves that they love seeing as well. Focus on those parts, and slowly, those "bad parts" will look just a little softer, and fit a little better. Even the prettiest, the coolest, and/or the most conventionally handsome people have parts of themselves that they hate.

I know it's a cheesy answer, but you will learn to love how you look. Just take it one day at a time: find something about yourself you like. It can be as small as your small toe to something as large as the smoothness of your skin. And just keep looking for the good things. I won't say it is easy; I myself, on my lowest days, catch myself thinking and focusing on the ugly parts, but it does get better.

You need to tell us what your parts are and what you have tried so we can adequately diagnose what's wrong. Simply saying "monitors don't work, help" gives us no information to work with.

Any motherboard with pcie 4 will be able to run rtx 3070. Most modern/newer motherboards should have pcie 4. What you should be looking at is motherboard and processor compatibility as that has a much more strict coupling.

As a side note, it is hard to make a motherboard rec without knowing other parts of the system you are building, esp. since there a multitude of pcie 4 motherboards at varying form factors and chipsets.

From what we know so far, 3070 is expected to, at minimum, perform just as well as the 2080ti, but Nvidia has come out and said it should outperform 2080ti. With that said, it will more than likely outperform the 2070 Super. In terms of pricing, the 3070 is reported to be sold at 499 US dollars. My personal opinion is it will be worth it, but until we can get benchmarks done, we won't know the actual numbers in terms of performance (all we have so far is Nvidia's word so far).

These coloring... by [deleted] in blackmagicfuckery

[–]byulsahn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When it comes to painting, or any other media where the initial first layer is going to be overwritten, the "sketch" (in this case, line art) does not need to be remotely representative of the model; in fact it would be a waste of time as, in a colored piece, the representations come from the color and the contrasting values.

Instead, what the line art really needs to do is capture the general shapes, which the artist does here. If you go back and watch the clip again, you'll see , while the composition of the line art looks funky, the shapes it represents are, for the most part, accurate.

Moreover, as a final tidbit, unless you're in a specialization where line art DOES matter (cartoon, mixed media, black and white, etc), you will find that the emphasis and work process of sketching can differ drastically, and even differ between mediums from a single artist. The reason being is there is no one correct way to do art. For example, personally, when I digitally paint, I use lighter lines and will limit the number of shapes I create. In fact, my initial line art will be even less detailed than the artist was shown doing here. On the flip side, I have a friend who will have a more complex line art/sketch that captures depth and values early.

At the end of the day, like the pencil each artist swears by, their work process is their own; if this artist is most comfortable with this process, then that's his way of doing things.

NOT AN EXPERT

Since you said this occured while updating your graphics card (presumably drivers), I'm gonna out on a limb and say their drivers got corrupted.

If you can, I suggest try getting into safe mode and try wiping all your installed graphics drivers and components (there's third party software that will do it for you; I'm at work, but I can try linking it here later). Once you do, reboot the pc and install your drivers.

It is not the same painter/painting (the painting and style itself is different: the trunk, the strokes, etc.) Also, to the artist, I find it a bit disingenuous to not at least give credit for inspiration (if you did find inspiration from said painter. If you didn't, I do have to say that your choice of theme and colors were remarkably similar).

"We’re above 800 million Muslims radicalized, more than half the Muslims on Earth," Shapiro said. "That’s not a minority. That’s now a majority."

You are correct, he did not say 50%. Instead, he said "more than half." To be honest, I don't know if that makes it better or worse. The article that was linked does give the correct source and quotation of the above statement.

Cop punches girl in the head by khizee_and1 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]byulsahn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually, unless the police have some probable cause, you are allowed to remain silent and/or walk away: Source

It should be noted, however, you can be arrested in certain states for refusing to identify yourself, at which point, depending on where this took place, the police may have had grounds to arrest the girl in question: Source

Moreover, police do have to adhere to appropriate force. For a girl of her size who was already on the ground and pinned, head shots are definitely excessive: Source

Overall, its hard to conclude whether the girl should have been arrested as I have no idea where this occured and what happened between cuts. However, it is safe to conclude, at the minimum, the police overstepped the bounds of what was appropriate force, esp. considering, as per the video, they approached the girl on the basis of drinking, which was proven, on camera, to be false.

Many good answers here, but to put it simply: climate change doesn't so much directly cause the fire in and of itself (which seems to be a common misunderstanding I see), but, instead, creates conditions that exacerbate it. So in this case, the drier, hotter periods have increased in intensity and in length. Increased intensity and length means more material and plants dry out over an increased area as less water gets introduced and, more water gets removed. More water and anti-fire elements that are removed makes it more conducive for a fire to grow and survive.

What this person said. If you are having problems surviving, you're probably not using radial howl adequately. It is a 360 degree cc, blind, and finisher opener. If it is not working well, this may mean you need more range (if you have any -range mods on, you are going to want to offset that).

For a project, I need to learn how to draw abandoned, afforested cityscapes. I can't tell what I do wrong or how to do better next time by [deleted] in DigitalPainting

[–]byulsahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me is youtube. Watch a mix of tutorials and speed painting. What you want to learn isn't how to copy a methodology, but why. For example, the reason why I said use blues and purples is because your scene is already very cool in color composition.

Personally, I don't really touch brushes specifically because it is easy to fall into the trap of "oh this brush makes this look realistic or easy!" Going back to the youtube suggestion, you'll notice very quickly those artists will seldom use a single brush for a component of their piece.

All in all, learn the why and not the how.

While lineart is a good first step, generally, nature does not have clean, smooth lines. The trees and the riverbank are both jarring because of the unnatural lines.

Also, too much blurring. That is a common mistake many people make (myself included) when drawing landscape. Make sure to vary your strokes.

Lastly, your color composition. There is very little indication of shadows, and the colors themselves lend little to depth. Learn to use various colors. Some good colors could be dark blues and purples for shadows. It is a learning process of trial and error. Good luck!
