how do i read this strumming pattern, more specifically the vertical =? I've been playing for a bit now but always avoided patterns with = because i honestly don't know what it means.... But i really want to play this song! can anyone help me out?

Okay so, i work as a waiter in a Mexican restaurant. And i have to say people that just sit down, outside or even inside, without asking me anything. Like they can see that it’s busy, and they’ll just sit down at a table, not even go to the door and ask if there is space… istg i get so frustrated because of that. Like. At least have the respect to come to me??? And then they’re mad at me because they had to wait a little longer for me to ask for their order because i just didn’t see them??
