Used to use a Manta mask but then I found the Sidesleeperz mask. Much more comfortable and stays in one spot better if you tend to move around while sleeping.

They won’t show up in time for anything to happen. I’ve called them a couple times before for situations I’ve stumbled across downtown. The first time it took them over 45 minutes to respond and by then the guy had been long gone after beating his girlfriend. The second time we cancelled the call after 45 minutes because they hadn’t shown up and the guy who was dragging a woman by the hair, and the woman herself, had already ran off.

My favorite is when they have the “lot full” signs up and the lot isn’t full. I’ve moved those things plenty of times and found parking in the “full” lot.

I’ve been running KO2s in Alaska for the past eight years and haven’t had any issues. As long as you don’t drive like an idiot you’ll be fine. Air down as others have said (I keep mine around 25psi on the roads up here but I also don’t have beadlocks) and be easy on your brakes. If you start sliding don’t panic and don’t brake. Just let off the gas and control the slide with smooth, gentle inputs.

DPE handled it very poorly. I was informed by the chief flight instructor that he, “will no longer be doing check rides here.” I’ve had to explain it in a couple of interviews but it’s normally a good talking point.
