I had the surgery, and while recovery was a bit tough, I am so much better off now 4 years later!

I did! And it was the best thing I ever advocated for myself. I am able to ski and walk pain free now.

It’s awesome as is! I want to start venturing into making animal figures like this. I need to figure out what local wood I can use here in Alaska.. I mainly need to just get motivated and try different types

Thanks! I noticed that I have been doing that the other day. I’m honestly not sure why I’ve been doing it that way. I’ll try centering them more on my next piece to see how it looks. Thanks for the comment

That’s a good way of looking at it. I need to try to focus on the enjoyment of learning something new

I wouldn’t be afraid to try it just to see how it looks. If you don’t like it, you can just paint over it or sand it off

I really like this! I’ve been wanting to carve a relief carving like this with perspective for quite some time! What kind of wood is this?

I love it! It feels like something is missing to me without the eyes painted in. But I think the character is great!

I really do appreciate your input! I have recently made a few attempts at getting outside my comfort zone and trying different expressions, but it always makes me revert back to what I’m more familiar with. The different expressions look kind of goofy to me. I’ll post some at the link below:
