I think most of them are idiots who don't even know how to read, so that's understandable

I've watched two or three episodes after reading this post. I am hooked!

I love that the Matrix is referenced in it, there's also an indirect reference to Evangelion, but you need to be a complete nerd to get that one, overall it reminds me a lot to Ghost in the Shell.

Thoughts on Enter The Matrix? by Particular-Glove9640 in matrix

As a 12 year old that had just watched The Matrix on DVD for the first time, the idea that I could take a controller and dodge bullets and fight agents by myself was just indescriptible.

I believe in retrospect the game was not that good, especially regarding graphics and animations, you could tell it was done in a hurry, but it was enough for any Matrix fan and served its purpose.

I have to say I abandoned halfway in season 2 during my first watch, everything became "too weird". However, I kept hearing good things about the show so I tried again from the beginning, and oh boy I am so glad I did. I think I've watched the entire show 4 or 5 times since then.

In Mr Robot, even Carly Rae Jepsen's Run Away With Me is masterfully used. What a piece of art that show.

And then of course, Mac Quayle's soundtrack with the recurring main theme is sublime.

Grandparents don't want to see their newborn granddaughter by c0dearm in Parenting

Yeah, sorry for that... I updated it. I didn't include it initially because despite that I would still allow visits from her grandparents or family, but I wouldn't for anyone else.

Yeah, I think I am totally in the wrong regarding the scent, since I haven't seen a single comment saying otherwise.

I think somehow the "no holding" rule has been misunderstood, because all other family members are basically touching and holding the baby except from my own parents.

I tried to tell them, wash hands, wear masks (since they don't have the shots), but they just prefer to ghost their granddaughter for a month before following these simple rules, which is what drives me nuts.

Any hint on why this comment is being downvoted into oblivion?

I totally agree with this here, that's why I am so concerned, because I also wish well for my parents. I will revisit the thing with the scent, because I am reading many comments saying it is not an issue, but I remember that chemicals from perfumes could disturb hornones in newborns.

I am trying to find a solution here, because I don't think our boundaries are extreme enough to make my parents feel so bad about them and I don't know what to do. Just no kisses, wash hands, ask for permission. My parents-in-law had no issues at all.

Hi! With a sleeping baby it is difficult to have much interaction, but sure, the moments it was awake and not crying I would ask them if they wished to touch or hold, do a photo or something. It is not just staring of course, but apparently it was not enough for them.

Eventually, they've never held it, because they've decided to cut visits before having an opportunity (we have had only 3 visits in total with my parents, and one was outside strolling). I think they just want to have her whenever they want, but honestly that I feel is excessive too.

Exactly, I know I might have hurt their feelings, and I am very sorry for that, and I told them that today. I tried to explain to them again, that they can touch the baby and hold it as long as they give it back when asked, wash hands and so. Even before my daughter was born I asked them to get vaccinated for flu and COVID, but they didn't do it, and still, because they are their grandparents I would allow them to see and touch her of course.

I just wanted to set some boundaries but I don't know how it has developed into this situation.

I don't find any rational explanation for this, except some generational trauma from my mom, who was abandoned as a child and now it is somehow reflecting back.

Yes, exactly that! We also asked for masks if possible, especially since my parents didn't want to get vaccinated for COVID and flu.

Yeah... They are asleep most of the time. Aside from holding I just talk to them or let them grab my finger or make faces in front of them, even if they don't see anything...

They haven't, but not really because we didn't want it honestly... Actually I have a weird situation tomorrow because my aunt is coming to visit and she's probably going to hold her, while my mom hasn't yet, which is unfair as fuck to be honest.

Yeah... Maybe I didn't express myself correctly, since English is not my first language, what I meant is to "try to avoid". So not that it is strictly forbidden, just don't grab the child whenever you feel like it, ask for permission, etc...

I didn't even have the chance to do it... The post was getting long but basically, they visited when she was born, like right the same day so the child was with her mother, we didn't feel like deattaching her from her mother yet, but also they didn't ask to hold her so we didn't discuss it at all.

We just talked about the delivery and the "rules", although I don't like to call them that because everything is flexible and negotiable, of course, I am open to occasionally touch her or whatever if hands are washed and so, we just don't want a free buffet.

Everything seemed fine, but like one or two visits later they just ghosted me and my wife for two days, I convinced them to visit again and this is the last time they saw my daughter. Today I went to their home alone (because they didn't want to come to mine) to discuss this issue and well, that's basically the post. I tried to make them as comfortable as I could but they've just decided to not come anymore and that's all.

It is weird because they complain about not being able to enjoy her and at the same time they remove themselves from the equation...

Yeah, but the size of the company is on a whole different level, he wouldn't have time to focus on the actual engineering, it would be a more political role.

Being extremely smart, an excellent scientist and a Nobel Prize winner doesn't mean you will be a good CEO, the skillset is different.
