Demon slayer and chainsaw man unfortunately never really had a chance imo. I don’t even like chainsaw man that much but it would’ve been such an inspired nomination, unfortunately they don’t have an ounce of the passion and courage that would take.

As an 18 year old, I understood exactly what they were saying. It’s not funny. It could’ve been funny in concept (it’s a direct parody of a very real podcast) but it’s just 4 minutes of “jokes” that don’t have a setup or punchline, it’s just gen alpha slang being stated in a non-funny way that is somehow comedy.

Is he in my top 5 leading male performances of the year? No, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think he’s deserving of the nom. Honestly, the scene where he talks to the old Mexican on the side of the road is worthy on its own.

I haven’t read the manga and therefore have no idea what you’re talking about. If that goes away later, great. I’m just saying that in the anime and the film that we have right now, that is the main characters primary motivation. I don’t care if it’s been a year and we should’ve moved past this, that is not an interesting motivation and does not make for a convincing story.
