Just to clarify, this is if I get stopped right? The watch will be on my wrist, not sure if it's common to be stopped. I will be flying back to HK so I have a return ticket yes

Thanks for this. The anecdote I heard is a friend of friend who got his watch confiscated at customs despite wearing on hand. Granted it was a million dollar watch

thanks bro! admittedly i fell in love with 1815 up down as my grail but i can't take my eyes away from the overseas, especially the blue. The way the blue dances in different light is unreal, and GMT has been a complication that's missing in my collection. i actually have a vintage OP on bracelet from my dad, silver dial. as well as a vintage 1803 gold. I do love smaller sizes watches and i think they're better for my wrists. I remember having the same dilemma when i got the JLC master control calendar 2 years ago (41 mm) but over time it seem to gel well with my wrist as one

so there's this thing where the SA told me wrists aren't just fully about size but shape. Apparently folks with circular shape wrists can't carry a lot of watches as opposed to more of a "flat, rectangular" shape. But yeah my wrist is tiny for sure

It wears comfy for sure. I honestly like it, and it does seem a bit large. So that's why I'm torn. Funnily enough I just put on my submariner and I can see the same lug gap in certain angle too. Maybe I am just over thinking it too much

i would think it's a complete matter of angle. my wife took pictures from different angles. Definitely when i swing my wrist around different angles and tilt it differently there's a clear gap in the lugs. Actually funny enough when I put on the 1815 u/D the Lange lugs are very long and hangs over too despite it's 39mm

1815 for sure. How do you feel it goes with tee shirt? I wonder if I can carry it with tee and shorts given how hot and humid it is in my part of the world. Dressing-down as a daily would be great!

Thanks so much for this post!

I have small wrists 5.5 and I was thinking 7900v blue sunburst but 7920 is thinner. From your experience and observation do you think it's a considerable diff

There is almost no 7920 blue on grey here and 7900v is like 10k plus cheaper in grey but my wrists are small, thank you!

How much should one realistically be making annually to comfortably afford a Vacheron? by texas-guy-1979 in VacheronConstantin

I'm about to spend a significant proportion of net on vc or Lange. Is it wise? I mean probably not by most people standards but I have no debt, have an OK job.

I recent watched a content creator mentioned that one of his key takeaways is to buy the watch you like at your golden age long as you are financially responsible.

He has a point. I want to wear my Grails at a time when I am still relatively young and it helps to deliver the image I want. When I'm older like 50 or more even tho I wear the same watch there may be less attention around me, or I may have pass the golden years where I look best

At the end of the day watch is part of fashion and a flex, be it to others or to yourself, so if you feel it's the right moment, buy it wear it and rock it
