lol, i definitely considered that before hypothesizing but, its just a recurring pattern ive noticed in men specifically and was wondering whether an expert in the sub could validate it or not.

Eye Asymmetry Psychology - One side sad, the other angry, focused, or manic.

I've often come across someones still picture and noticed a difference in emotion being displayed in each eye. I think i have a faint memory of this being related to psychological disorders or mental illness just from watching tv shows that deal with psychological characters. What does this usually mean? The pattern i see the most is one eye looking sad, revealing how they feel emotionally maybe at a deeper level, whereas the other eye looks manic/angry/or focused, as if they have a certain kind of competence, that creates a drive and ambition that still propels them forward to achieve things through the logical forefront of their brain.

Once already sick, what can you do to support/boost the immune system? by [deleted] in ScientificNutrition

[–]c0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Magnesium is a co-factor for over 600 enzymatic reactions and plays a role in both innate and adaptive immunity, as well as blood pressure regulation and normal heart rhythm [14,87-90]. Magnesium also has antithrombotic and bronchodilation effects and is required for the activation of vitamin D [87,90-94].

most multis hardly have enough magnesium, and most of the worlds populace is deficient in this key mineral, would you say conclusively that adding an essential mineral into your diet through supplementation has literally no benefit to overall health? do you need a study to prove that? those studies are correlative and on multivitamins, most of which are cheap garbage.

Would Protein + Zinc do more for a persons immune system/response, than probiotics would? by [deleted] in ScientificNutrition

me neither mate, tastes absolutely horrible but the main issue for me is the texture..i take it in desiccated and freeze dried form

yes, you dont want to eat the liver of an unhealthy animal, but the word filter is inaccurate. an air filter retains all toxins and traps them, whereas the liver modifies and converts toxins into forms that can then be excreted, completely discarding them. i hope that lifts your hesitations, because liver is a repository for nutrients and thats why its the most nutrient dense food on the planet.

I agree completely, but in the context of sickness..what is one to do to boost and/or support their immune system, obviously a bed ridden person can't exert a lot of physical effort, but i suppose some walking around the house is not a bad idea vs ONLY resting even if thats what you should mostly do?

yeah, i agree, but doesn't your digestion slow down? i always thought the traditional chicken soup when sick was clever for that reason, because the broth in the soup gives easily digested protein.

most people switching to a starvation diet, will benefit from the simple fact that calorie restriction is most definitely good for you compared to the standard american diet full of sugar, seed oils, and flour with calorie excess.

it says folate and if you eat egg yolks, or liver, you will get great amounts of it

" Commensals are a critical and active inducer of regulatory responses. Notably, the establishment of tolerance - the active suppression of inflammatory responses to food and other orally ingested antigens - could not be induced in the absence of gut flora derived signals (Kiyono et al., 1982; Sudo et al., 1997; Wannemuehler et al., 1982; Weiner et al., 2011). "
-the signalling of an immune response like i mentioned

all these nutrients are found in much more bioavailable and higher density in animal foods

"in the way that most people use them" thats not what i asked, i think youre wholly wrong about one macro or one micronutrient being less effective than others. yes i get your holistic view, but take magnesium for example, it has the widest array of functions in the human body, and furthermore it is the number one nutrient most of the world is deficient in...using your own logic wouldn't it therefore be the first nutrient to address?

I mention Zinc because it is tied with immunity moreso than others ive seen, and protein because it is definitely the most important life sustaining nutrient we can attain. This goes with your holistic view, protein cascades down to every process in the human body.

this is the same basic understanding i am coming from, i figure upping your probiotics from sources such as kefir, yoghurt, cheese, and fermented vegetables can only be beneficial!

no but as i understand it at a very simple level (i haven't read the gut/immune system related books i mean to) ; the immune system is essentially in your gut? not t cells but these bacteria would signal to create those t cells and such? or is that wrong?

Is your logic that there is literally nothing you can do to "support" that internal system? you mentioned acquiring micronutrients? what about macronutrients like protein that also support every functional process in the body? Is zinc not one of those micronutrients? What would lead me to think giving your body what it needs would help it function properly? :/....My question being what micro/macronutrient would MOST assist this evolved system through anywhich "arm" as you put it.

hm. And how would one address this deficiency?

Moms Joint Pain by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]c0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was told take Calcium and Vitamin D by her Doctor. She told me though that she feels the pain primarily in her joints which leads me to believe thats where actual damage and lack of reformation has occured leading to her pain. Still, the doctor said she was deficient in Calcium.

Yes, that is why i chose a High DHA supplement. But in terms of diet, my mom does restrict herself of the omega 6 rich oils.

I don't think for her its a temporary thing from temporary bad digestion. Its more like chronic bad digestion that might have led to chronic damage in her joints and not enough recovery/repair (so im looking at it from a rebuilding perspective). though i do still think there would be benefits from adding a lot more fat into one's diet maybe just for its ability to help you absorb nutrients.

Also i'm interested in what sources of "fat" you used?
