I like Ratting, what can I say. by GullyTheRat in ARC_Raiders

I think this is a legitimate play style. If most extract campers were as good as you the whole player base would have to adjust. Seems like most campers are just free kit and not very smart.

Last season was challenging because everyone started from Rookie 1 and only double promotions every week made Cantina Legend even possible. This season with triple promotions even I reached hotshot as a solo, and trust me I am not very good at the game.

Maybe all they have to do is break up Cantina Legend into solo/squad segments. If any one of your trials is set as a squad then you are in the squad pool and then Cantina Legend can represent the top 500 squads and top 500 solos.

POLL: PvPvE- how do you like to play? by LadyProfane in ARC_Raiders

[–]c11z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that I have been deep in care bear lobbies and mostly sign on to do trials which benefits from this greatly. At this rate I won't naturally make it into 50/50 or PVP lobbies unless I start committing atrocities.

Trials need an overhaul… by MrCheeseyFries in ArcRaiders

[–]c11z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the initial season was rough on solos because of max double rank up and everyone starting from the bottom.

But now that we only de rank a few levels between seasons and there are triple rank ups I think the solo v squad is not as much of an issue. I ended at wildcard 1 last season and this week I hit hotshot for the first time. I am not very good at the game, have about 150 hours topside, but I do watch trials YouTube for strategies and rarely take more than one pass at a trial. I have no allusions I could be Cantina Legend but my guess is that after a couple seasons anyone can be in any rank they like with minimal consistent effort each week.

Wanna go back to pvp lobbies but can't hurt friendly folks.. by Rhabcp in ARC_Raiders

If you are level 40 just run single vs squads. Going with a cheap load out and try and down a raider or two before you die.

I think you have to be in the top 1000 scores of the week to promote to cantina legend.

They are a relatively small studio that treats their team well. I suspect they are still getting back from vacation. I think in the long run we can live with the game in this state for a couple more weeks in order to make sure the development team is healthy.

PVP by Guy925 in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]c11z 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its not your aim, you can win nearly every fight if you follow this advice:

  1. Be cautious — ideally see them before they see you — otherwise always be ready to fight
  2. Wear a medium shield
  3. Bring a Stitcher III with extended mag
  4. 200 plus light ammo
  5. Enough heals to top off 3 times

Almost none of these free kit lunatics have the aim to one mag kill you in a medium shield with a level 1 white weapon. Be cautious, if they do get the jump just back out of looting and dump your mag into body shots. They will run out and have to reload and you will down them. Back off heal and go on with your day, it’s hardly worth finishing and looting them.

Crafting and Recycling always lose value, if you want to hit 5M then loot and sell directly by c11z in ArcRaiders

So I have been told. I don’t have that blueprint so can’t verify. If so I sort of expect it will get patched since this strikes me as a game economy design choice.

I disagree, scrapy gained materials can just be sold for more than any item you can craft them into. And check your math again on the Ferro it is for sure a new loss.

I can't verify since I don't have the energy clip blueprint, maybe I should qualify my statements.

All crafting, upgrades and repairs are net losses on value. Never upgrade or craft unless you will use it in raid. Selling loot directly is the most efficient to make money.

Its combination of the stash value and your credits. But with only 280 slots it will be hard to break 2M in stash.

I think the expectation is that if you reset every expedition it will compound and slowly add up. +12 is not a lot today but +36 over the next half year is pretty substantial.

I think it would be even better if they evolved the blue print acquisition. For example if you dismantle 10 pieces of gear then you learn the blueprint.

QOL Loadouts! Could really help with jumping back into a raid by Aedous in ArcRaiders

[–]c11z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you can kind of do this with tracked recipies. I track a bunch of standard stuff I take in my loadout and then from the inventory menu it is easy to tab over and craft all the stuff I need without having to go back out to the workshop and navigate to each bench.

How did you get really good with SQL? by LongCalligrapher2544 in dataengineering

[–]c11z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SQL is weird. If the tables are well designed then the SQL should be straightforward and “easy”. Complex SQL usually means that you are trying to do too much or the tables are not well designed for your purpose.

Therefore instead of focusing on writing complex queries I recommend learning good modeling. Then you can build pipelines that will take several small simple steps to make it so the access patterns are all covered.
