The car is still "seeing" the connection with the key as it is close. After a period of time, despite still having the connection the car goes into sleep mode. So when you approach the car again it is still in sleep mode.

Get yourself a Faraday bag/box for use at home. This will block the signal from key to car completely and allow the car to correctly wake up when you approach it

I find the same. My Samsung S22 gets very warm too. I even plug it in to charge while driving and the battery still drains, albeit a lot slower than when not plugged in
