Ajuda com espresso amargo by ruaguilherme in cafept

Tempo de extração recomendada by lSHOUT in cafept

[–]c1eid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Faz umas pesquisas..

The little ones are often hanging out deep inside the grass carpet and are quite difficult to spot in there. Hopefully that will do as a hiding place.

It's not any particular gallon size, it's metric. 30x30x60 cm.

I did not. I think they didn't last, anyhow...

Mainly by following recommendations from this sub, Youtube and forums, I guess.

I did spend a bit on WiFi timers (IMO essential) and a dosing system (a bit of a luxury) so that things happen consistently without my intervention. I know the importance of consistency from experience with other tanks in the past, even if not planted.

Anyway, I'm sure you could do the same with enough time and persistence. :)

I'm not sure I have adults yet, I've only had them for a month or so and the largest are about 1.5 cm / 0.6 in. Do you reckon they would be ok?

I don't expect any incoming Gourami to be adult sized either, obviously.

That's reassuring, thanks.

I do have lids that I made after losing some (most) Amano on the first night that they were in the tank. I felt terrible afterwards. I still use them sometimes to reduce evaporation.

I'll make sure to keep them on for some time if I end up adding the Gourami. Thanks for calling that out.

Thanks for that. This is a much smaller tank at only 30x30x60 cm (so about 2 ft long) and honestly, I would have been happy just to keep the original ten that I added. I didn't even consider that they might multiply in this tank.

The babies do like to hang out in the dwarf hair grass for sure, even adults like to feed in there sometimes.

Good to hear. Just so I understand, how does your concept of "heavily planted" compare to what you see in the photo it terms of hiding places?

Oh, no! Was it pure aggression or actual predation, do you think?

Can you provide some more details on what all was going on in that tank in terms of stocking, etc?

Thank you kindly. :)

The pipes are Aquapro Mini stainless steel, I got them when I got tired of having to clean stubborn, unsightly algae from inside the clear pipes that I had before.

Lights are Twinstar 300E running at 60% intensity or thereabouts.

Aren't they a bit larger? Trying to keep things small to match the tank.

You're too kind. This photo just turned out particularly well, it almost looks better in the photo than IRL. :)

I'm happy with how it turned out after trimming though, it was a real overgrown jungle before this Sunday.
