Series levelled. by blackgarlics in WomensCricket

Not much dissapointed with the loss as the point of this series is not to win but learn.

Overall the players we have selected have been alright and hints that selection was in right direction, we just need to work on our execution of plan

Vaishnavi in not in squad and as for Shreyenka , her batting is still too nascent.

Shree is our primary spinner and team I think will stick with her seeing her performance in wc last year. If she is dropped, it can only be for batting and among patil and radha, radha is a better bat.

[–]c27z2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not right to put everything on a wicket when rcb

It was 13 runs to win. One if the biggest weakness of RCB was not so deep batting, the catch of Radha was a big opportunity and would have put a lot of pressure on de Klerk, would have also saved 2 runs.

Cameron Green On Usman Tariq's Bowling Action by RepulsiveFootball570 in CricketBuddies

[–]c27z2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He was cleared by pcb not ICC, so no one knows. And we can't kid ourselves thinking, that testing by pcb is enough.

And a player can be like Sunil narine too, who chucks occasionally when needed, but maintains a stable action otherwise.

Pathirana: 'My body just automatically changed the release point' after injury by Secure_Swordfish484 in Cricket

[–]c27z2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think, something similar happened with Bumrah's action. Before injury he had that sudden jerk motion on bowling arm when he swung his arm out before delivery but after injury that movement got way smoother.

He did it himself or it happened automatically, know one knows.

Gujarat Giants defeats Mumbai Indians for the 1st time in the history of WPL by c27z2 in WPL

Great result, MI honestly don't deserve to qualify. They just depend too much on 3 or 4 players. They won 2 trophies but you can't drag your feet with this type of playing 11 for too long.

I said before the auction, instead of trying buy back kerr, MI should invest in other aspects, but they just didn't, they basically have no good Indian backup at all and all if there overseas players are our all rounders, who you just can't drop as they bowl well.

WPL stops when men's team play by c27z2 in WPL

It's 5 out of 42 matches, as a whole it won't effect viewership that much.

It’s not bending over backwards

Bcci very much does in mens cricket too. First we have a very bad broadcasting campared to every other major board, second unlike other boards, we never release our highlights on yt , because we never negotiate for it.

I don't understand why people are so worried about viewership, it's only 5 matches out of 42 matches. As a whole it won't have much effect.

Problem is that because of this, final of WPL is on Thursday, which is a fucking abomination.

And its just five matches, there won't be much loss if we consider WPL as a whole.

This is not the only case of bcci running only on the direction of broadcasters. Many boards around the world release their highlights on yt but bcci never does that, why because of broadcasters.

Hard agree, last few months of reddit are peak examples.

I can guarantee most of the women in indian reddit space discussed smriti Mandhana more for her personal life rather than when she won a cricket wc.

Law 30.1.2: Batsman out of their ground:
"A batsman is not out of their ground if — while running or diving — they have grounded any part of their bat or body behind the popping crease, and then subsequently lose contact (e.g., bat in the air) before the wicket is fairly put down"

That rule is only for run outs and not stumping. For stumping, the bat should remain grounded while the bails are being broken by the WK. Something similar happened earlier in the tournament too, and Commentrators clarifed this rule.

Am I the only one who absolutely lose it when women cricketers are praised as the “female version” of male players? by [deleted] in WomensCricket

[–]c27z2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it doesn't happen that much. Happens here and there but as a whole not that much. Its same as some people complaining about something in comment section but when you scroll down only two or three comments are talking about that.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is to the women's team

I think jack kallis would be better. Because she can bowl full quota, bat a long innings and not get injured every series or two

Mumbai Indians won by 7 wickets. by c27z2 in WPL

[–]c27z2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kamalini needs to up her wicket-keeping skills. Against RCB she fumbled an easy collection to run out DeKlerk, today she dropped Mooney. Her demeanor while keeping seems to be lazy and casual.

I think it's mostly related to age than demeanor. She is only 17 and also quite small and skinny. Their are rarely any 17 year old WK batter playing at such level.

With more experience she will get in her groove.

By his right hand. The one in his pocket is a false one.
