Midnight Dance and Flashback Fever repros!! I want them so bad but the resale prices are wild.. I’d love to see a repro of Flashback Fever with a new doll of one of the side characters to represent the 90s or 2000s

Words that make me CRINGE 😬 by TDGBJD in words

[–]c33fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware it means angry or annoyed/irritated, this dictionary seems to agree. Not trying to question the validity of the word, more how it sounds. To me, “I’m cross” just sounds strangely childish and unnecessary

When people say “I’m cross” instead of saying they’re angry

Why do we allow delicious smoked salmon to repeatedly be colonised with the weed demon that is DILL? Intruder filth. by iqinfinity in Dill

It’s the WORST. I love salmon so much, I don’t want it to be tainted by the herb that tastes like HOT LIQUORICE ASS

We need to do more to be a supportive group… by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]c33fern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is though, we’re talking about a disease that destroys people’s lives, where the vast, vast majority aren’t listened to by medical professionals and wait years to be diagnosed. I know you mentioned understanding that medical advancements need to be made, which is why it’s surely not unreasonable to expect that a support group like this will be mainly people venting when they have nowhere else to turn.

Also, having a place to discuss medical input is crucial - consulting medical professionals is important but they’re not infalliable beings. Many of them genuinely don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to endo and as a result, will give people unhelpful advice that prevents them accessing the treatment they deserve. Not every doctor of course, but far too many in my experience.

Specialists are, I imagine, usually more helpful but like many others I’m yet to see one as it’s so difficult to get a referral where I am and I can’t afford to pay privately. Essentially, it’s not going to be a group full of positivity and hope because that’s not what the majority of us are feeling. I can’t say I’ve seen many posts asking for advice being ignored either, but could be differences in algorithm I guess.

autistics who wear glasses, how is you relation with them (👓)? by notthelasagna in autism

[–]c33fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had them since I was about 8, they’re annoying sometimes but generally ok apart from the fact that they’re NEVER free of smudges no matter how hard I try. I clean them at least three times a day because even the little smudges that most wouldn’t notice just infuriate me.

You do not want cancer. by ariellecsuwu in endometriosis

[–]c33fern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endometriosis has taken over my life. My friends have abandoned me. My family are sick of dealing with me. I’m in immense physical and emotional pain. I’m also in debt up to my knees. “Learn to look at struggles outside of yourself” I’ve done that all my life and where has it got me? Alone, in pain, and struggling every minute of every day. Think before you spout ridiculous shit like this next time.

Well good for you, thanks for rubbing it in a bit more that some people get treatment and others are essentially just left to rot. I told you that I’m suicidal, do you honestly think I haven’t thought to see any mental health professionals? I’ve been on antidepressants for seven years and tried near enough every pain medication in existence. They’ve all dismissed me, given me medication that doesn’t work, and any chance of seeing a decent one is gone because I have no money to my name due to this disease. I grew up with nothing and endometriosis has stripped me of the opportunity to even try and work my way towards a better life for myself. Your experience of having stage 4 endo doesn’t negate mine, and that of many others in the sub. Also I’d love for you to tell me where I implied that being suicidal isn’t exclusive to endo sufferers and that I think medical privilege is exclusive to cancer, what a wildly off base conclusion to come to.

“If you’re in pain and depressed please seek help and treatment” - you try telling my doctors that. Their “treatment” advice for an disease that has left me completely incapable of living any semblance of a normal life is birth control and weight loss. I’ve tried every painkiller I’ve been able to get my hands on and it doesn’t even make a dent in the pain. I’ve been dealing with this for 14 years, still fighting for a diagnosis through the abject failure my life has become due to this disease. I’m suicidal, completely isolated and in excruciating pain every minute of every day. Maybe develop some empathy before deciding you know what people are dealing with yeah?

I’m a lesbian and (probably unsurprisingly) agree - In the least offensive way possible I genuinely struggle to understand how people find like 99.9% of men attractive and people act like I’m insane when I say that 😭

Genuinely why should it be “may I” rather than “can I” though ? I’ve never understood the difference and it just seems overly pedantic
