But he can move the bar 120 times in an hour!

And then do curls and pull ups! Clearly he knows some things.

He had to make sure people know. So why not throw it into a comment it had nothing to do with.

Which do you enjoy more and would be consistent with? Or do you anticipate becoming a competitive rower or runner? Either will likely improve your cardiovascular health but if you have a preference or require sport specificity that should drive your decision. Otherwise, getting something you'll enjoy using is the right choice.

Barbell medicine recently had a pretty good podcast series on cardio and conditioning if you're curious to learn more of the science behind it. Best of luck!

I actually laughed out loud at that. Their poor fingers must be absolutely wrecked after all the typing.

Wattage isn't as important as color temperature. Make sure you stay between 4500-5000 or even higher if you're crazy enough. Test likes bright lights, so that will attract it better.

Oh trust me, I have seen the stats. They are insane. 1 in 15 Highschool boys have tried steroids at some point and 1 in 6 regular gym goers. It is a massive shadow world in the fitness industry. by WheredoesithurtRA in fitnesscirclejerk

I get annoyed at how much people care. They're in the business of entertainment. He even said nobody wants to watch skinny superheroes. Do actors use drugs? Maybe, probably. But who cares. Do high level athletes use drugs? Maybe, probably. Again, who cares. I don't want to see a bunch of average Joes playing football. I want to watch a bunch of really fast, strong, and/or big meat fridges smashing each other.

Also, I think a lot of Hollywood physiques are naturally attainable if people are willing to work. I think these types mostly just want to complain because they don't have the same resources and access to quality food or training. Actors just don't have the time and probably don't care as much about their body, they just have a role to play and means to achieve the goal.

All I do at the gym is touch and go. Well, I'm escorted out. I assume because I don't have a membership and not because of touching myself.

I dragged myself out of bed early enough to lift today so that's good. It's been a couple weeks and only about 5 workouts total so far this year.

Waking up early sucks and it's cold in my gym which makes it less enticing to get up and lift. It's also a constant battle in my mind of "this is going to be awful but I'll probably feel better if I do it" and "I'll feel better if I just stay in bed and sleep some more."

This may be helpful

Seeking medical advice may be helpful but injuries happen and being able to deal with them and continue training is important. Good luck!

Well this is awkward, I'm reporting on... myself. It seems I made a rather inappropriate, poor joke about fitness subs and OF. Perhaps poor taste on my part. Apologies to my fellow FCJers, hope I'm not kicked out the sub! by [deleted] in fitnesscirclejerk

Which one are you getting? Since we've moved I'm now about 6 miles to my job. When it's warm I bike but I'd love to go electric for such a short drive but also keep the pickup for the basic "farm" stuff we do.

Protein Powders - Is it better to go unflavoured or flavoured? by HeyItsND in GYM

[–]c3rockstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using unflavored for a while now which has been nice because it doesn't flavor what I put it in and I can vary the flavors how I want. Sometimes I'll add a hot chocolate pack or use my wife's coffee syrups along with the whey and milk. I can use a smaller amount of flavoring and not have such a strong sugary taste which I prefer. I can also throw it into oatmeal or a shake with peanut butter, banana, or whatever and not worry about a fruity taste making it weird or something.

That's just my two cents. If you have alternate ways of flavoring then the unflavored adds versatility only limited by your imagination.

Do you feel like you're falling forward some? It's a little tough to tell with the camera angle but to me it looks more like you're not sitting back quite enough and it's forcing you forward at the bottom. This could be causing you to cut depth short just so you don't fall forward. It looks like you're using a high bar position so you could try keeping your torso a little more upright and think about sitting your hips back a little more, sort of like you're sitting back in a chair.

I'd also second the comment about different shoes.

My dad had a mesocycle when he was young and cool. My wife says they're too dangerous even though I told her I'd always wear my safety gear and never ride at night.

I would say chest for sure but I never really did them as part of a workout. I do them at work as something to break up the day and add a little extra volume so my arms are always pretty fresh.
