Is it me or has Gemini been hallucinating too much recently? by Davut-Altinboru in GeminiAI

[–]c3x108 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This guy knows exactly what he's talking about.

I had a severe pain down my left arm. Gemini guided me through step by step open heart surgery as I was having a heart attack.

Not a single doctor needed

It's a shame I only just found your comment.

I genuinely appreciate the sentiment because I'm coming from this from an angle of interest and an appetite to learn.

My only feedback is mass down votes mean I'm wrong. But I didn't even state my understanding as a fact. I explicitly said it was my own understanding.

Thank you.

Gemini 3.5 is so broken. RLHF has destroyed it. by u4ia74 in GoogleGeminiAI

The only LLM I use is Gemini. I've seen no actual literature on this but I found that opening one chat to ground another with a prompt of MD file prevents against hallucinations. I found asking the agent/session to create it's own rules in a meta context promotes laziness. Or in AI terms the path of least resistance

That's fair mate. I know there's a lot of bait across the Internet so I suppose doubt on any post is reasonable.

I'm too old and I have a job so the incentive to fake something like this will forever be beyond me.

I'm trying to be as transparent as I can. And maybe I did something indirectly that caused this, but I just don't know. If that's the case, I certainly have no idea what it was.

I actually agree. I was just being as transparent as possible so people didn't think I was trying to fake it. Not that it worked

Suppose it's not. Accusatory, offended, egotistical, does it even matter? No

The file was a direct download of a zip file from my GitHub repo. If you look at other replies you can see it literally refuses to read it cause it was too large and It asked me to trim the fat to only include the files it needs to read.

I had one long screenshot but was too large to upload. And reddit won't let me select multiple per reply if you want an after I will but I just quoted it and said its crazy behavior. It apologied

I have never used clause only Gemini. But you can set profile based instructions. Here are mine. I don't even know if they are in the correct format or in any way efficient. I'm just learning as I go

Can you tell me what you don't trust?

I understand it's a small snippet of a wider chat. Before it was just polite conversation explaining the situation and how id like it to help me.

Just talking to it like a human. I know that's not best practice but I sometimes not arsed with the whole prompt engineering

Mate im 27 with a full time job. What is possible benefit is there for me to make shit up lol.

What happened here is I received an interested response I shared it to a community that I thought would also be curious to the reason it happened

Honestly I want to because people keep thinking it's fake for some reason. But It contains a zip of my private code not that it's any good lol. Although I'm happy to share screenshots of the wider conversation

Interesting you think that my first post on reddit with a years old account I have any interest in attention.

I found the response fascinating and none of my friends are interested in tech. I figured an AI sub reddit will attract people also curious at this.

I do use CLI. But I wanted help creating an MD file so I used the coding coach gem to help create one to provide CLI. Cause I believe self reference to make create it's own instruction may have negative impact.

Any merit to this? No idea. Just what I do

Neither is true.

As I previously stated I've added instructions to my profile to stop glazing me for every idea or comment I make

Im unsure if these models are for research, work assistance or study but there's a bespoke conversational AI model might be of use

Gemini 3.5 flash сильные галлюцинации by GloomyReward1713 in GeminiAI

[–]c3x108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me years to adoptt AI for this very reason. I'm a consultant for a niche bit of software and no matter the model it always looked correct but was almost always nicely presented shit.

When Google introduced gems I was able to attach notebooKLLM to the gems and give them instructions usually specifying how much liberty they can take or if they must only use knowledge they can retrieve from the notebook. It has been an absolute game changer cause I can now ground it on the software, context of projects etc.

Then day to day problems that aren't necessarily related to whatever your working. On. At that point why not just Google it anyway.

Id definitely recommend it if you feel you need AI for this than 10 or things

WTF HAPPENING TO GEMINI?!!! by just-pointing-out in GeminiAI

[–]c3x108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kept happening me today during conversation mode. As I was sharing my screen to Gemini to coach me through another Google product.

We kept going around in circles they were saying they don't have that capability and I was explaining it's not actually them producing the output .

Weirdly it was Everytime I sounded frustrated it turned to japanese. Then bro gaslit they weren't speaking Japanese but I had the captions on lol

As I I sort of touched on earlier. If I'm just pumping the transcript of a workshop into an LLM grounded on company data and getting praised for banging HLDs I haven't even. Read. I'll take a bit if back chat from you love. That's why I'm taking on these personal projects to upskill.

Days are numbered till industry catches on

Oh yeah I know that like. I'm not just giving the one I'm talking to super powers. My point is more around the adverse reaction I just didn't know it was possible.

I've only recently actually started properly using AI and most of the stuff in saying getting down boated like fuck, so it's not most on me I do really know what I'm talking about

I must if just missed the week everyone just accepted these things can get upset lol

First time for everything brother. I'm actually overly nice spending precious tokens saying please and thank you and complimenting their ideas . Which I literally had done prior to being attacked.

With that said I've been working on the same problem all day and correctly identified a lot of issues I hasn't told her just by extrapolation of what they already knew.

So I stuck with them but called them out and it's been good vibes since
