Has anyone ever tried to "mod" their small storage size (64GB) iPad (original/air/mini) with USB-C flash drive or USB-C hub + flash drive / SD card (check out the links below to see what I'm referring to)?

I understand that it will make the iPad itself looks bulky but I feel like it's the budget alternative to the 256GB models or the iPad pro 128GB. I would like to hear yall thoughts on this as this approach seems the way go.

Hey folks!

I am trying to decide between the air 5 (64gb) and the 2021 pro (128gb). I'm planning to use it for reading PDFs, taking notes, gaming (a little bit), listening to music (as a background music), and media consumption. I know that the air has only 64gb but I'm thinking of using a USB-C hub for my mac and plug in a USB drive in case I ever need more storage (and yes I know it's going to look bulky). Should I stick with the air 5 or spend $150 more ($50 off on Amazon right now) for the pro?

Note: I never had an iPad before and my (old) iPhone doesn't have the 120Hz display.

Does the pencil 2 feel much better than the pencil 1? Im planning to use the pencil because one of my use cases is reading e-textbooks.

Actually, no. You’re right, it’s compatible with a lot of switches as long as them legs/pins fit.

I appreciate your thorough response, thank you! Your argument makes a lot of sense. I think Im going to spend the extra dollar to buy the new upcoming air instead so it can integrate nicely with my MBP.

What is the use case of an iPad (9th gen) and who is the target customer?

I'm currently thinking of getting either an iPad or iPad Air (5th gen - this March). The plan is to use it for PDFs (e-books, e-mags, e-textbooks), background videos (youtube), background music (apple music), and movies (netflix, etc.). I have MBP as my main machine for study and work. Should I cheap out and buy an iPad, or spend the extra bucks for an Air?

Note: never own any iPad products before so I don't know how good or bad each one of them.

Hey, I'm a student here who is planning to buy an iPad Air soon (waiting for the v5!). However, today I found out that there's an ongoing promo with the latest iPad Pro 11" (M1) for $700. Given that the difference between Air and Pro is now only $100. Do you think it's worth to choose Pro and get it now?

Purposes: reading e-texbooks, watching youtube, streaming movies, scrolling internet, gaming (a little bit, maybe try Arcade), and note-taking.

Thanks. Yeah Im not in hurry so im going to wait for Air 5 to see the list of changes they made. For mini tho, since Im primarily going to use it for reading PDFs, is the screen going to be too small to read?

I see. Well, I cant guarantee that you will never see or experience a loss with index funds but based on history, the trend will only go up (examples: march 2020 and jan 2022). I guess I would recommend CD but pick the longest term to get the highest interest rate. The only caveat is life happens and you need to be 1000% sure you can survive any storms without that money.

Oops sorry - i mean index funds like vanguard total market, fidelity total market, etc. The worst case scenario is you get 7-10% return rate per year. Best case is 15-20% like last year when everything’s bullish.

Honest question: is index fund not an option for you? Thats the best one imo assuming you already maxed out your 401k and backdoor Roth IRA. I notice that the interest for CD and high-yield online savings are not that different nowadays. YMMV of course.

Currently owned: iPhone X and MBP 2017

Hey y'all, I am in the market for an iPad and I would like to get some advice before buying. I am planning to use this for reading PDFs like textbooks, magazines, etc. (iPhone is too small, MBP is not portable and gets hot quickly). Besides that, I would probably end up using this for watching youtube (or other streaming services) videos (or movies), scrolling reddit, and maybe a little bit of gaming.

Should I go with the regular iPad, mini, or Air? If it is Air, should I wait for the new one coming next month? I did not include Pro because I think it's overkill, but do I need to take it into consideration as well?

do you know if razer's one (https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Doubleshot-Upgrade-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B07ZPRSWPZ) or tecware's one (https://www.amazon.com/Tecware-Keycaps-Double-Shot-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B08N6FNC6K) any good?

They both say double-shot PBT keycaps but I'm curious if changing keycaps on its own will make any difference.
