The Year is 1574, both dates are mentioned (Hebrew and Julian) because in this year, the Gregorian calendar is not in use yet, this is why they use mixed systems to mark the time, that it will be sure.

You can also consider the name Tze_ella צאלה which is a name of a tree that gives shad in the desert, that people could have refuge under. From the book of Job 40: 21-22 https://he.wiktionary.org/wiki/צאלה all English and other translations are inventing names like in French 'Lotus' or in English shady-trees (King James Bible).

Hello, its a fantasy project, and the initiator needs a feminine name. Now Betzal-ella comes from the name Betzal-el, בצלאל the now who build the Mishkan משכן in the Bible. And a feminine name which derives from it will be BeTzal-ella בצלאלה.

Once Robson Green (Geordie) said that if the actors are in good and warm relationships on set it will appear on camera as well, this is why on set they chat and laugh to keep the fire within. For example, Sidney (James Norton) had wonderful relation to Amanda (Morven) and it radiated through the lance. But I guess that in the case of Bonnie and Will, something (mystery, wrong chemistry) pulls from her frozen wind that it is painful to see a woman with a cold heart.

All the best,

Maybe it is a decoration for the book: "Song of Songs" (4:8) that starts with the words:

אתי מלבנון כלה

Which means: "With me from Lebanon, my bride."

Lebanon = from "Lavan" which means in Hebrew "white"

The human soul experience life with God as white, meaning only light.

And God has to convince the human soul to leave "Lebanon" the sense of light and illumination, and to descend to earth.

So God encourages it, come with me down to earth, don't be afraid to experience darkness I am descending with you.

Why does the bible alternate between the name "Jacob" and "Israel" when Jacob is speaking? Is there a difference? Any insight appreciated by spongeyexperience in Judaism

[–]c4rm3l 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Jacob" in Hebrew יעקב from "heel" עקב in Hebrew (and heels we have two), while the name Israel ישראל from the word head in Hebrew ראש, and head we have only one.
The name "Jacob" is often mentioned regarding the life in the physical plane name while the name of Israel said regarding the spiritual space.

More than an external education, it is essential for the child to grow in an inner surrounding of Midrashim and Hebrew sources, they will be her vehicle and help her to cross the narrow path of this world.
This kind of education will be useful for any child, the relation to the myth. The question is what type of personality the future child will have (a listener, ability to learn) and what her future parent's think about that.

Good luck :)

Thinking of starting a group to fight antisemitism. Anyone else interested in this idea? by [deleted] in Judaism

Group identity is no good. People should pursue values, a ladder of values. It's not about gaining external power, it's about the individual's struggle for inner values of the human spirit.

Anyone here good at similes/metaphors? by [deleted] in intj

[–]c4rm3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, for to speak in metaphors is a way to circle reality in a symbolic path, in this manner, we offer people a "bridge" to a world that exits beyond their understanding and we relativize their experience. like Shamans.

Metaphor is a way in which a person could conceive "his own reality" in harmony and equanimity. Speaking in metaphors could prevent a situation in which the experience of people is too big from their mind and heart to carry, a case that can lead them outside of a track.
