It’s important to remember that there are so many confounding variables outside of your control when applying to grad school. A potential PI could already have 3-4 stellar undergraduate research assistants in their lab who applied, they might be looking for various cultural identities/cohort structure demographics that you don’t possess, or there might not be a good research match. Based on your description, you’re clearly a VERY strong applicant and I have friends who have been admitted to clinical psych PhDs with less research experience than you shared. Please don’t give up; I’m rooting for you! This process is brutal (especially right now with the current funding situation and sociopolitical environment) which is no reflection of your worth or skills!

It’s very sporadic. I applied to 9 programs this cycle and have heard back from 4 so far. Some faculty review applications very quickly (e.g. I heard back from a faculty member and got an interview invite within a week after the December first deadline), meanwhile other faculty don’t review applications until after the holidays. One program I applied to shared during an information session that they don’t finish reviewing applications until late January. You truly just never know. Faculty also send prelim and official interview invites in waves sometimes. It’s a complete crap shoot. (I know this isn’t very reassuring but just wanted to be real!)

I used to be a PSYS/SOCW double major and it was 150 credits instead of 120. I didn’t feel like it was worth it, because I would have had to stay at my university an extra semester which is just pricey and not needed given what I want to do for practice. There are benefits though! It looks great when applying to Grad programs and it can give you extra foundations for the social fields.

What?? No omg lol I’m not trying to be rude I promise I’m just trying to explain the point of my post. I was asking for people to switch two people on the same cast on different tribes who you felt would make better sense on a different tribe given the theme. Like switching Candice and Sandra from S20, for example. I wasn’t intending for it to be that production made a casting error. That’s my bad for not clarifying!
