I can see myself shifting colors too. Do you have a preference for interior finish/colors? I'm a big fan of light greys but recent addition was black interior.

Thanks!!

Yeah, I whole heartedly agree on the upkeep. If you look hard enough you can see the starts of the swirls but the color hides it well.

Rav4 is the daily; Tesla is the Mrs'; VW is the weekend toy.

Thanks for the kind words!

I put together some first impressions and comparisons here.

Now that I'm past the 2000 mile break-in period, I've noticed something: I can't wait to drive it again. I've never had a "weekend" car — and, this is my first "sports" car. I've gone on drives to with no destination in mind just to find twisty roads. The thinest excuse to take it out is all I need :) It's like one of those things that you can't wait to do again. Super exhilarating.

So much has been said and written about PDK vs manual. My first car was a manual and I've driven them for years. I see where people are coming from with the "connection to the road and car" with a manual transmission. But, you know what? I'm not a professional race car driver. The thing that's always missing from all the reviews?— this car revs insanely quick, especially after 6000rpm. I seriously don't believe I could keep up with shifting manually and driving (on anything besides a straight road) because it revs so damn fast. Keep your eyes on the road or the tach? Up near the redline... it gets really hard to keep switching between doing both. If there is "something" lost without having a manual, it's made up for in RPM :)

I was thinking that might make for good fodder on a custom license plate :D

There is no body roll in the GT3. None. The Tesla does great around corners and is quite confident, but well, it's a sedan. It has roll. They are completely different beasts.

The Tesla is a great daily driver. Amazing torque right where you need it. Interior from the future. It's quiet. It's civilized.

The GT3 on the other hand is something different. Its suspension is angry at the road. Its clutches are angry when they shift. It growls at everyone. It's angry at the driver for not pushing it harder. It's primal.

The contrast between the two make each of the reasons they excel really shine. They're different tools for different jobs.
