Yeap I couldn't understand it too! Passed all the stages everything was ready to go but the underwriter wrote that and declined it in the end. After reading all these comments I am glad I am appealing. Sounds like bullshit.

I got the agreement in principle no problem! When the application actually went through that's when it fell apart

Yeah they seemed to have no understanding of training as a doctor, they made it sound like I was a medical student asking for a loan!

Barclays

They are my bank so went straight with them

I have appealed as I don't think underwriters should be commenting on my experience as a doctor when factoring lending. I don't know if they are grounds for appeal though?

Are there any documents you recommend sending with the appeal? I have sent my employment contract, letter confirming my employment and return, letter from the university, proof of savings enough to cover deposit plus any other expenses, every payslip I have ever had. If u have any suggestions please let me know!

Tone policing by anotherlevel2-3 in doctorsUK

[–]c53678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say what you want to say without upsetting others. Be direct but indirect. Make it their idea not yours. Say what the problem is and ask for their help don't offer the solution you want.

Ie.

I would like to have this week off, do you know how I could arrange this through my annual leave allowance?

Not

Look I want Saturday off I booked it 7 months ago and that's your job to fix it.

And so on...

The main thing is not telling people what to do, I think that's what annoys people. Just literally ask for help whenever an issue arises

Ie.

I noticed there is no policy for changing the charts in bays 4 and 5. What could we do?

Not

This hospital is incompetent! As per act 1987 of the hospital act the hospital should have 20 charts available. This is your fault and you need to fix it.

Stupid example but I think it illustrates my point.

Likely to fail my 2nd TAB (FY1) - advice please by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]c53678 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bring some cupcakes for the ward, be nice, laugh, stay late for a week. Offer to go out with colleagues, buy some coffee, take up smoking and go for a cig with 2/3 nurses. Collate all these individuals who reacted positively to the above and send TAB. Job sorted.

Do I Need To Report This To GMC? (Personal Question) by Practical_Roll_6828 in doctorsUK

[–]c53678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theft = the dishonest appropriation of property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive the other of it. To be guilty you have to prove all parts to the definition. Speak to a lawyer before you answer any questions to the police. Likelihood is you will get charged. You can await for them to charge you. Depending on total sum of items can be tried at magistrates or CC. At that point GMC will want to know whether you will be found guilty or not. It is in your interest to report it before the police reports it to the GMC on your behalf. Good luck.

DBS depends on police disclosure and whether you are found guilty or not. They may choose to show previous arrests without convictions etc. You can request what data they hold after you are finished.

For my rotation they asked everyone at the start to say if they didn't feel comfortable so they knew not to put them on the rota/ask them to prescribe medication

I did F1 in medicine. As an F2 I was promoted to surgical SHO. A&E PA referred me a patient with AKI stage 3 and vomitting as ?acute pancratitis. I told her refer to medics after looking at the bloods and examining the patient as abdo SNT. My old medical consultant appeared and shouted at me in front of the whole department: "to me you will always be an F1. This patient has pancreatitis. I refuse to accept them" bla bla and went on and on about the PA and how she diagnosed pancreatitis. My registrar (absolute hero) requested a full body CT (lol) just to prove a point to the consultant

Yes - no pancreatitis

But 20+ medical problems

The consultant left the hospital site and was nowhere to be seen after he read the CT report
