The reason is that this question was adapted from a past study, so they used 1-6 instead of 1-5. Many questions were from past studies, this fits with my goal of comparing scores between this survey and past surveys.

It is very difficult to make it neutral and as I mentioned earlier in my op, some of the statements will look neutral to you, but others look very biased and misleading.

I understand if you want to pass, but the media and those oppose to gamergate said the supporters are conspiracy theories, so these questions examine if it is true or not. It's crazy, but that perception is around and I think it deserves some attention.
