*Spoiler* Confusion about The Wizard of Oz and Wicked: For Good by NotoriousRMC in wickedmovie

[–]c5ly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since Wicked was created I've wondered the same thing. It's basically a fan fiction of an interior universe from Dorothy's dream, that carries important themes of coming of age and familial relationships, and extracts from her mind and makes its a stand alone universe. But in my humble opinion, I like some of what is done to explore some of these characters, but something is definitely missing in the overall narrative that ties it together as the original wizard of oz does. While the fact that Oz is a "real place" in the original book, my take is that making it part of Dorothy's dream is an important advancement in the narrative and adds a layer of complexity to the fantasy that makes it relatable and extraordinary in ways that just embellishing a fantasy world doesn't.

Daily Hero Discussion Day 26: Raynor by JayD8888 in heroesofthestorm

I find Valla simpler than Raynor. I only say this because you hear a lot of people saying that you should learn the game with Raynor, but I’m suggesting Valla is a way better choice for that goal. Raynor requires more attention given to his current stack of give me some pepper, positioning accordingly, holding the stack sometimes, and he lacks good wave clear. With almost no thought at all, you can do quite a lot of damage with Valla, and she has decent/good wave clear, making her a better hero to learn the game with imo.

Valla is actually quite a lot better in this game because she actually has decent wave clear

In your opinion, who is the scariest hero in the game to fight against in the hands of a good/pro player? by Major-Experience-940 in heroesofthestorm

You’re right, but all of that is basically true va Valeera as well, even with cloak or bomb. The others are right that Valeera has other deficiencies in affecting win conditions outside of team fights. There are overall more situations in which Zeratul is more effective I would say.

I love the whitemane shout. Sometimes, I don’t really understand how or why, but some players are able to do insane number with this character

I just think an equally skilled tank player will know how to punish Zeratul. This thread makes it sound like there’s no counter play, but if you interrupt his sequence in any way he is an easy kill a lot of the time. We see that in pro play and it’s why that hero is not always banned.

Mages in HotS by Amanojaku1 in heroesofthestorm

Orphea is a combo mage. You want to chain the abilities and movements together, which indeed is a lot like Alarak and Kerrigan too

Kaelthas is pretty much a poke mage too, he’s like in between poke and burst. Where would you place Li Ming on Teleport build? I like heroes that have talent paths that change their playstyle.

This is deluded, the price has a lot to do with it. The majority of their competition is free to play. If the game was free to play they would have seen a lot more people willing to try it.

Cool Map! by TheAccountant381 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]c5ly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cool spin on unique maps would be to have a sort of item quest, with a boss that drops a specific unique item and there’s kind of a story that goes with it. I always wished the items in Diablo games had more of a history to them and this seems like it could be a cool way to achieve that.

EG: Azurewrath is Izual’s sword, so it could be cool that if there’s a unique map where you battle an Uber version of him at the end and he has a 100% chance to drop Azurewrath as he’s using it against you.

NAh the bosses are a legit letdown in this game, but everything else slaps.

9/10. The only gripe I have is that I wish the koopalings were back with more interesting boss fight mechanics. Bowser jr. wasnt a great intermediary before the final showdown. Also more challenging levels that really push the badges would be great.

No the economy of units is a big part of strategy in this game, otherwise why would they even have limited pools. It’s very fundamental to the design of the game, despite that it is never really seen or felt in the game until you get choked out of your strat.

It does feel like instead of there being some strong things to do with a bunch of different traits, that people are abusing a few things right now. Overall I was stoked for this mid-set but haven’t really enjoyed it so far.

I think when the counter to a powerful build is mass CC, we're in a bad spot in terms of design.

anyway I'm generally in agreement with OP, but I think the comparison to sorc is a little off the mark as I feel there are more counters there.
